12 Piece Round Cup Burs Set

This is a pretty good selection of burs. I have not yet used them all, but the ones that I have used work well.I've been using these to round the ends of earring wires that I make. Works pretty well, but not perfectly. I'm actually surprised that they don't work better. However, they get the job done. With practice I'm sure I'll get better at using them.Having several sizes is really handy.The shank size is smaller than my Dremel tool is able to use, but a few wraps of paper fixes that issue. I could also buy an insert, but I don't care to spend the money on one.

I’m using these on jewelry wire - ear wires, frames, etc. These burs work much better than the cheapest wood-handled cup burs. The sharpened edges cut, and actually form a smooth round on the end of the wire (which is, of course, what a cup bur is supposed to do - but not all of them do it). If you match the wire to the correct size cup, you won’t have to rotate it around the edges. Made to fit a pin vise.

Having recently started to make prong settings in sterling silver, I really needed a cup burr to get my prong ends rounded. These work wonderfully and the sizes are great for everything I make.

These seemed a bit excessive to me at first, but wow. Well worth it if you work with wire. I'm amazed how many earwires don't have nicely finished ends, actually. Mine do now, and thanks to this set, I'll be able to put a nice round end on any size wire, forever. I even bought the incredibly overpriced lube that I suspect is just parrafin wax, but whatever. I'm prepared. If you want to nicely finish cut wire ends, you have just found your tools. The set could be a little cheaper, but it's good value at thirty or so.

These worked perfectly on my project. I like the multiple sizes, can use on a wide variety of wire sizes (gauges). These do fatigue your hands if you have any problem with tendons and or ligaments after a while if you have a lot of wire ends to smooth.

So far so good. Wide range of cup sizes to cover all my wire sizes from 12 guage to the smallest wire. How long they will stay sharp I do not know since I just got them, but I love the variety of sizes, and they are currently very effective. I put them in my Proxxon and also in my hand held vice

These were a good price and they included several different sizes, enabling me to smooth the ends of several different gauges of wire .
