Q: What specs should i look for if i want to keep it a 327? it's a '69 large journal. thanks in advance.

Your 327 has a 4.000 bore, same as a 350 bore. If std, with a 3.250 stroke. this crank won't work for you. Pistons have a different wrist pin height .

Q: so if I am using stock rods and 30 over pistons it will need to be balanced?

Depends on what it's for if it's gonna see 6k rpms and up then yes definitely would be best! If it's just gonna be a daily driver to where it just sees cruising revs up 4500ish with mostly 1500-3000rpms then you could get away without a balance most likely but if u can see if your pistons are around the same weight as your old ones and weight matched
