I had an adverse toxic reaction to the antibiotic Levaquin (though no doctor will confirm this, I KNOW this is the case), which resulted in severe peripheral neuropathy symptoms (I couldn't even touch anything without severe sensitivity and pain and had shocking pain in my hands whenever pressure was applied, such as when turning on a faucet or turning a door knob. . .not to mention symptoms in my feet). Under the advisement of another reviewer, and a review on this product on a blog I read, I purchased this and gave it a try.I noticed vague improvement after a few days, but (as another reviewer stated), it took about 3 weeks to feel significant improvement (I took what the German doctors prescribe, which is 200mg 3x/day). I did have queasiness at first, but eating before taking this helps some. After time, it didn't make me queasy. It works so well, however, that I'm now afraid to stop taking it!!! (plus I still have joint and tendon pain from the antibiotic, and figure that an antioxidant such as this can only help!!!). Honestly, theses are the best if all the R-Lipolic.Unfortunately there is a Chinese company buying up all our upper end vitamin companies. So you know up goes the price again. I wish they wold stay away from here and let these companies create jobs for the USA and frankly I don't wish to have lead in my supplements.

I've tried several brands of Lipoic Acid for neuropathy and have found that the Country Life R-Lipoic Acid, (ingredient= R-alpha Lipoic Acid) gives the best results, without the unwanted side effects. Don't get just "Lipoic Acid," as it has both the "R" and "S" components, which, while mirrored images of each other, the "S" gives bad side effects, (nausea, vomiting.) I started with 600 mg. per day of the "R," spaced out in 200 mg. doses. It takes a few weeks to notice improvement, and some have said it gets worse before it gets better, but I've had debilitating neuropathy for 12 years, and this is the first thing that has not only eased the pain, but appears to be regenerating the small-fiber nerves, too. There are not enough stars to give it!

Was feeling prickles and numbness in hands, feet. Then started taking 3 of these in morning then 3 in the evening. They started helping. I then started taking Swanson's as I think they have pure ingredients and work better. But I take these now when I run out of the others. Whichever brand one uses, if you have nerve pain from anything R-lipoic acid is worth a try. Be consistent in taking them though for results.

I didn't look closely enough and I ended up ordering the capsules when I wanted the tablets. The descriptions are almost identical. Capsules give me heartburn, but the tablets have worked very well for nerve itching that comes on before pain. I took the outer wrapper off but not the inner seal before I realized the difference, so I'm sure I can't return it. Since the tablets I usually get are unavailable and the only other rip off seller has doubled the price, I am going to order another brand that also has good reviews. Live and learn.

The capsules did not seem full. Maybe 3/4 full.

Don’t know if it works or not. Dr told me to take nightly for blood sugar stabilization.
