Beast mode
2 seasons later and this axe is still a beast. I have sharpened it after every 1/4 of cord. Cuts through 32 inch logs like nothing. I’m 6 1 240 lbs and this axe is worth every penny. On the larger pieces I need to take full swings to get through on one shot but on 8 inch and smaller it barely needs a touch to spilt.4 cords so far all spilt by this. 36 inch model highly recommended for guys my size

Solid hatchet, does what I need it to do
I use this hatchet to cut small pieces when I'm splitting my wood. The blade is sharp and has stayed sharp after a couple weeks of use. The handle is firmly attached to the blade. The material of the handle seems adequate. Overall I'm happy with my purchase.

Awesome tool!
What can I say about splitting axe? Simple, solid, well balanced, axe head is heavy as it should be...lexivon brand quality and cool style! I have a lot lexivon tools and everything is awesome, so, when I looking for axe and found a lexivon axe, bought it with closed eyes)

Lexivon- Competitive and affordable!
First I’d like to mention that this is the first axe I’ve ever purchased. I’ve usually used my dads in the past but it was time to get my own. I purchased the 28-inch chopping axe. My main use for this has been splitting logs in my backyard so I can have fires in my fire pit over the summer. I will say that this axe has exceeded my expectations. It slices through and split seasoned/dry wood beautifully. If the wood isn’t fully seasoned/dry you might have to give it a few good hacks but it will eventually go. I’ve even hit the handle on accident a few times right below the axe head and I haven’t noticed any cracks or damage because of it. The feel of this axe is great in the hands and the rubber grip is comfortable. I really like the fiberglass composite handle it seems very sturdy and has taken a few accidental blows. The weight feels perfect, not too heavy and not too light. After you give the head a nice little sharpen it just eats through wood with a powerful swing. I’d definitely recommend sharpening it before using it the first time, it doesn’t come very sharp from the factory. It even comes with a handy head safety protector that has a handle on it. I paid around 31 dollars for this axe with a discount on Amazon and I will say this is a solid and affordable piece that is competitive with a Fiskars axe that costs 15-20 dollars more. Great value for money so far! I expect this to last many more summers. An avid and extremely experienced wood chopper/splitter may notice some differences/ have some gripes but I’d assume this will work and perform perfectly fine for most people.

Good product, but costumer service saved the sell
I read plenty of reviews about this axe and wanted to get something for our newly built firepit outside. I decided to get it, mainly based on price. When it came, the box looked pretty beat up which is never a good sign. I opened the box, and sure enough, the plastic locking mechanism was broken. The axe fell out of the holder when I pulled it out of the box. I still have 10 toes! There was dirt on the blade and scratches along the handle. It wouldn't take a Sherlock to discover this had been previously used. I wrote to customer service about the situation. They responded in less than 12 hours! They just needed my address to send a replacement. The new one came a few days later with a return label in the box for the original axe. Customer service was extremely nice, helpful, and PROMPT! I would EASILY buy from this company again when I'm ready to purchase a hatchet or other axe. Fantastic to work with. Now to the product. I have used this 2-3x a week since receiving it. Splits like a champ! I even split wood after three days of storms. No problem. The design of a splitting axe makes it almost too easy to swing around and split the log first try. The only problem I run into is when there is a knot in the wood. The axe feels good in my hands, swings easily, and does the job. The handle is hollow inside, which I understand might deter some people especially seeing it's plastic of some kind, but I haven't had the misfortune of swinging and hitting handle instead of blade. So as long as you have decent aim, you shouldn't have problems like others of breaking the handle. Overall, very happy with the results so far after a month of splitting.

Does the job well
Disclaimer: I have never used a chopping axe before handling this one, so I have nothing to compare it to. I can just write about my experience with it.When I bought this axe, there were no ratings and no reviews. I decided to give it a go based on the old "how bad can it be" principle, considering I've never used an axe like this and I just needed something like this to clean up some of the forest behind my house, but not for any professional or heavy duty work. When it arrived, it wasn't very sharp. so I gave it a pass with a sharpening rod. It's not super hard steel so it was easy to give it a good edge. The blade has a somewhat rough texture, and is not as smooth as I expected it would be. However, due to the convexity of the two faces, this doesn't seem to created a problem when the blade enters the wood.I have used on soft wood trees (so-called octopus trees, Schefflera, a common invasive here) about a foot in diameter, and considering I was practicing my swing, it performed very well. A well placed strike at the right angle would easily penetrate a couple inches into the soft wood. It was relatively easy to fell several trees in one afternoon. The handle is sturdy and very well attached, it's hard to imagine how one could break it while operating the tool in the intended way.Overall, I am pretty happy with this axe so far. After each use, I gave it a good brushing and oiling and it almost looked like new.
