It works
I needed some extra fuel containers to take to Alaska for long stretches of highway where there are no gas stations. These worked just fine - no leaks. I read the reviews, and I can see how if you don't install everything correctly, you could get leaks, but I really suspect that human error was probably at fault. These things bulged in the sun, but they didn't leak, even under pressure. You do need to be sure to let the pressure escape before you try to hook it up, though. Simple solution - just open the fill hole and then hook it up and then close it again. My one critique is that they don't empty fully - there is always gas in the bottom - and there is no drain hole, so if you want to completely empty them, that can be a challenge. On the other hand, a drain hole would add another possible leak point, so ... I'm not sure.

VERY sturdy construction, great tank overall
I have a mostly inunsulated 3 car garage and run 2 parallel diesel heaters to keep it warm, I was getting kind of tired of refilling the previous 5gal bucket I had set up to fuel them so I looked and found this. It's very well made and robust. The fuel inlet that reaches close to the bottom of the tank is well designed, sturdy, and has a debris screen. The gauge is just a simple float and works great. Do note, I'm sure it says in the instructions but don't fill the tank and then drive with just the little red stopper plug in the fuel outlet port mounted on the gauge. The Gs of driving will cause fuel to leak from that threaded outlet. It's quite heavy when full, I'm pretty strong but I struggled to lift it on top of my metal cabinet. Overall it works great, zero smells from the one way vented cap and I have no doubt it'll last me. Highly recommended!

A good tank even with an inconvenient flaw that is easily overcome
I always read reviews before I purchase a product. I am usually most interested in the negative reviews because I want to know what kind of problems people have had. There were three problems specifically mentioned in previous reviews that almost deterred me from purchasing this tank but ultimately did not. The first concern is that an OMC fitting cannot be attached to the tank because of the low clearance. This is illustrated in two of the pictures that I have attached. There are likely a multitude of creative workarounds but I chose the one that I felt was easiest and also allowed me to investigate two of the other concerns mentioned in negative reviews. (It is also the method that is instructed on the inside of the paper that is wrapped around the tank upon delivery). I removed the intake mechanism of the tank altogether. This allowed me to investigate two other concerns listed in negative reviews. One is that the intake tube falls off inside the tank and the other is that it leaks around the fuel gauge. Upon removing the intake mechanism of the tank, I was able to verify that the fuel uptake tube is sufficiently attached and there is a gasket to seal in the fuel. I attached the Johnson OMC hose connector to the intake mechanism of the tank and then reattached it to the tank. All of that took less than five minutes including the time it took to take the pictures I have posted. After a weekend out on the water, I am happy to report a completely functioning tank with no leaks. There was some bloating and swelling of the tank but that is a result of EPA standards that forbid any vapor leakage. I may install a vent or replace the cap with one that vents. Overall, I am very satisfied with this product and I do recommend it even though it was a nuisance to attach the OMC fuel fitting

Nice size
If using for storage only, make sure you buy a 1/4 inch NPT male plug to plug the hole where the red plug is. The red plug is not threaded. Bought a small battery powered pump for it and strapped it to a furniture dolly to move around the garage.

Slick little tank for diesel heater no mess with filling tanks
Used this for a Diesel heater works well and had no problem with the tank, mind you my use does not subject the tank to much abuse, so I don’t’ expect to have much go wrong with it.

Do not trust proper assembly. You may end up with a huge smelly mess!
I have the 3 gallon tank. I took it to the gas station and was looking up at the pump to ensure i was filling to exactly 3 G as i had oil to mix in. I stopped pumping and looked down and gas pouring out of the seal below the gauge and fuel line connector. OMG smelly gasoline mess!!!! Now i have to get the mess home in my car. Once getting it home i took it apart to find out why it was leaking so bad.I enclosed a picture of why. Very disappointed!!
