Good enough as a budget tool for hobby use
This cutter head is the same unit as most the other orange plastic box boring heads on Amazon. The head itself is decent enough quality, but should be disassembled and lubricated better prior to using. The fit on the gib set screws is a bit sloppy with the included wrench, but a better quality hardware store allen key does the trick.The included cutters are unusable out of the box - The brazing is good, but whoever ground the carbide didn't have a clue. Either buy some good quality cutters or reshape them. You'll need to have the right composition grinding wheel set up to reshape the carbide tips with the correct angle. Once the heads were reground, they worked fine and chatter free in aluminum.I don't know how rigid the setup would be for boring steel or iron - but then again you also shouldn't expect true precision with a $60 boring head. It did the job for me on a budget.

Don't waste your money
The gradations on this are not accurate. I knew it wasn't going to be a great boring bad, but I didn't expect it being off as far as it is

Ease of use
At 75yr young my hands and stedyness is much to be desired. This turns internal, external and face to the size required, with no effort. And with the carbide tips the finish only needs very little to no sanding

Boring head alright, but bits are off center
The boring head I received was nice and tight, works alright. As others have said the accuracy of the screw scale is questionable, you need to double check your measurements.The bits are another story... not good. The carbide insert is so thick, that the cutting surface is not centered correctly, so its extremely hard to get the correct cutting angle on smaller holes. If you hole is large enough you can mess with the mounting angle in the boring head to make it work, but its not ideal.

How to use it
Very disappointed that there was no instruction in how to use it.. would really like to know how to use it.. I have used similar one, not this one..

Very nice
Worth every penny and then some. Much better quality than the price led me to think it would be. I spent about an hour stoning some surfaces, cleaning and lubing and it is outstanding. Great fit for the mini mill. Thank you very much.

Perfect hole
My shop had lad larger ones the were bet up, so I bought this one . This one is the right one for the right job. I’m the only one that will use this one so it won’t get mistreated. Once you take care of it it will be all you need to make the hole.
