Good set
These paints are great quality. Dry time is decent. Colors pop and blend well. And you don’t need to use a lot of paint as this stuff stretches. This kit should last quite a while if you’re not painting A LOT. I definitely recommend this set if you’re not trying to spend a fortune but also not sacrifice quality.

My new watercolor obsession!
Watercolor is my favorite medium even though I do a wide variety of art. I've been a big fan of M. Graham paints for several years now and they're usually my go-to when I want to paint. I recently came across Sanajana's Art on Youtube/Facebook and after watching her paint I just knew I had to try these out. It's safe to say they meet and exceed all of my expectations! The colors are really rich and vibrant! The colors in this range are enough that you can mix virtually anything from them. There is a cool yellow, warm yellow, cool red, warm red, cool blue, warm blue, brown, and black. That would be a great starting set by itself, but it also includes white, green, purple, and a third pink/red color. My only complaints about the colors offered are that two of the reds look virtually identical by themselves - but they'll at least be useful for slightly different mixing options.I debated between the .5oz bottles and the 1oz bottles since the 1oz weren't much more expensive. I decided to play it safe and get these just in case I didn't like them. I think getting this set is just fine. I've finished an entire painting using no more than 2 drops of each color (other than maybe a couple extras where I was trying to get just the right mix), so I expect these "small" bottles will still last quite some time.I've used these on watercolor paper and in coloring books and they work beautifully in both. They work with regular brushes and water brushes. They seem to dry fairly fast so they do take a little getting used to - once they are dry they are permanent and don't pick back up the way some watercolors do. If you've used Inktense pencils/blocks these actually feel fairly similar to those once they are dry. At this point I don't think there's anything these vibrant paints can't do, so give them a try!

Great concentrated watercolors
I've used these very concentrated watercolors a few time now and love them. Especially for the koi and other water based compositions.

I love the colors of Set 3
This is my second set of Hydrus Watercolors. I love the colors of Set 3, but I wanted some more true primaries and this set fit the bill. They do require a lot of shaking sometimes of the pigment has congealed, but the quality is excellent and they are pretty much the only lightfast option on the market. This is especially important to me, as a lettering artist, since most of my clients will be framing and displaying their purchases. These are easy to use, beautifully pigmented, and highly concentrated. Do be aware, though, that they function more like inks than watercolors in some respects, and therefore may stain brushes/paper/clothing. They also cannot always be lifted out of the paper like typical watercolors.Item arrived well packaged and on time. Would purchase again.

Dr. Ph. Martin's Hydrus Fine Art Watercolor
Fairly easy to use, colors very bright. Just takes some getting use to. Did not mix well with my standard water colors, had to use it seperately.

A great way to paint with watercolours.
These liquid watercolours work very well, the pigment load is high and using them couldn’t be simpler. I have been a professional artist for several decades and paint using water-soluble oil colors, Gouache (opaque watercolour), and watercolour. I have spent thousands of dollars on tube paint that dries up or pan colours that crack and fall out; not a problem for Dr. Ph. Martin’s.There is so much pigment in these paints, I would not classify them as “student quality”, a little goes a long way. The included dropper bottle is perfect for loading aqua brushes with colour and distilled water, a great way to paint plein aire. I have ordered select colours to add to this set. Will buy again.
