This is a well constructed, solid wood bunk bed frame. The finish is very nice and a lot of thought and detail went into the design. Most importantly, when I ran into a couple issues, customer service was there for me. They were kind, helpful, and knowledgeable of the product.There is a fair amount of assembly so I’d suggest hiring someone to put it together unless you have the know how or a lot of time to do it. Also, though it is plenty sturdy for the task, it IS softwood, so don’t abuse it. I realize hardwood would add at least 50% of the cost so the value for your dollar on this item really goes a long way.Having extensive experience in custom millwork, I paid attention to the fastening and durability of the finished product. I am quite pleased and feel this was the best product for the money. It is well engineered, looks great, and quite durable without spending way more for hardwoods. I’m sure it will be a part of my family for a long time...

4 ½ stars (if I could give half stars). If the instructions were better, I would give 5 stars. Once assembled, the bed is good quality, looks great, and the grand-kids loved it. One caution is that the description says “Accommodates Eight Inch Mattress”, but the instructions included with the Trundle kit indicate 6 ½ inch maximum. I had already ordered 8 inch mattresses, so tried it. It does fit, but very tight. If you plan to use the Trundle often, I would recommend a thinner mattress for the Trundle.Instructions are minimal, just drawings. There are a couple of parts that are almost identical, with no reference in the instructions or on the part itself which goes where. I guessed wrong once and had to de-assemble in a later step. Also, if you get the Twin over Full, the instructions are for Twin over Twin, so there are separate instructions for the Full conversion. Easy to do, but if you follow the instructions, you will assemble as Twin, then de-assemble to add the Full conversion. It took about 3 hours to assemble by myself, but if I were to assemble again, without having to study the instructions, it would take less than 2 hours. The stairs came pre-assembled for the left hand side, but not a big deal (about 15 minutes) to change to right hand side. I would recommend getting a T-handle allen wrench set, or better yet a combo allen wrench set with bits that can be used in a power driver/drill to shorten assembly time vs. using the allen wrench included. Luckily, I already had these.The delivery was less than a week in my case, and other than having to schedule a delivery appointment and be there for the delivery window, it was great. Keep in mind this is curbside delivery, the boxes are wrapped on a pallet and the driver (at least in my case) wheeled the pallet up the driveway near the house. It was too tall (as wrapped) to fit in the garage. It was an easy chore to unwrap and remove the boxes from the pallet. None of the individual boxes were too heavy, so it was easy to get them inside. The one exception was the pre-assembled stairs/drawers. You will need a second person, or dolly to move it.

EDITED:We have had this bed for about 9 months now, my slim 6yo sleeps there. She only weights about 40lb. Well, her bed broke. We don't even understand how this happened. DO NOT BUY THIS BED! What a waste of money.Our kids love this bed.It's beautiful and solid. Shipping was fast and it came so well packed. Highly impressed.Update it's been about 4 months since we got this bed. Only complain is the trundle is a little hard to roll out on the carpet.

I Ordered this bunk bed on June 29, 2016 and it was delivered on July 6, 2016. Unfortunately, is was damaged during delivery (no fault of Dreamscape Furniture) and sent back. I called Dreamscape and spoke with Greg who had a new one shipped out and it was delivered July 18, 2016, in perfect shape (Thanks Greg). The Bed took approximately 3 hrs. to put together, but was worth it. The kids love it!!!!I looked at many different ones in the stores, but the prices were high and not as nice as this one. This was the bunk bed I wanted with stairs and the drawers on the end. Dreamscape had the best price I could find. I was real impressed with the slats being metal instead of wood.Worth the wait and time to put it together and WELL WORTH the PRICE.Thanks again Greg and Scott (Dreamscape).

My son likes this bed and the quality is decent. However, I contacted the seller and noted that two rails were defective as well as the whole step/drawer structure. The seller asked me to provide further details on the steps (which I did) and only sent the two rails. I sent two follow-up emails concerning the steps and haven’t heard back. I would go through the process of returning this, but it took me too long to put together and, as I noted, my son likes it. Annoyed.

It is more red (Merlot) than it shows in the picture. Some nicks in the wood. Apparently stain issues in knotted areas. The assembly service was worth it.

Just finished building the bed. Was a lot of work,but it's so nice,its so worth it. My kids love it and haven't left their beds. I chose the trundle option and it works wonderfully with a 6 in mattress. The slats for the bunk bed part are metal,which is awesome. I put a 6 in on top and I'm glad I did,because it looks perfectly safe with the guard riders rails so much higher. The trundle part doesn't attach to the bunk bed itself, it just slides in perfectly.There's even a magazine rack right next to the bottom bunk of the bed, behind the drawers. Will update review as it's in use longer, but this bed screams quality.It's also very sturdy. No hassle with delivery, missing pieces or anything. I am overjoyed.
