You'll not regret buying these
Obviously these are outstanding, they're premium headphones and the sound quality is superb. What you want to know is whether they're better than the Sonys. They're not. My son has a pair of xm3s and they're marginally better. The noise cancelling is better, the sound is bassier, they're slightly more comfortable. I imagine the xm4s are better still. But, the Bose 700s are exceptionally good, the sound is arguably clearer in the mids than the Sonys and they look and feel amazing. The noise cancelling isn't quite as comprehensive as the xm3s but it's still very very good. The set up was easy, the app is good and another big advantage over the xm3s is that you can connect to multiple devices simultaneously, although I believe the xm4s have corrected that. It's kind of a matter of taste and I suppose brand loyalty, I like Bose, I've had a couple of pairs of ie headphones over the years. If you buy these, you will in no way be disappointed, they are exquisite, the differences between these and the Sonys are marginal.

Best Headphones Ever Owned
They are quite simply brilliant. I’ve only had them a day but I haven’t took them off my head! The noise cancelling is brilliant, I tried them on a bust road and they exceeded expectations. Way better than airpod pros. The music performance is all I would expect, excellent separation and I’m hearing things in well listened to tracks I didn’t know were there. And they look and feel amazing. I use an ipad pro and an iphone pro max and they work seamlessly between these two devices, actually more seamlessly in my opinion than the airpod pros. I like the way you can just press a little button on the left ear pad and toggle between 10 (full) 5 (half) and 0 (off) noise cancelling. The case is also standout, it’s made out of a material that doesn’t get easily marked up or fingerprinted. For £210 in the sale these were the bargain of the year.

Fantastic all-round quality!!
I read a lot of reviews before buying these headphones for my wife and was slightly concerned by some of the negative comments, but WOW these are amazing headphones. The design is very sleek, easy setup with the app took no time at all and the sound quality is exactly what you’d expect from Bose, excellent and evenly balanced across the range straight out of the box. Noise cancelling is superb with the ability to control, but isn’t adaptive, although I am not sure this is a huge miss. And of course the headphones have what you’d expect with regards to voice control and ability to answers calls etc. switching between music to calls seamlessly.I have the Sony WH-1000XM and I love them and there is not much between the two. Both have a hefty price tag, but both are worthy premium headphones, however I feel the Bose 700 just about pips them across all aspects.Great product, highly recommend!!

IT ROTATES OUTWARDS
For all the hype Bose was getting regarding ANC, I have to say 700 was a disappointment. Yes, it does block *most* sound; but if someone raises their voice near me, I can still hear them, in the highest setting for ANC. i was disappointed with this because I looked at an non-exhaustive list of reviews for the headphones, and while they all say that MX4 and QC35ii is better, I still chose this. Still keep in mind, 700 is one of the BEST ANC headphones in the market right now. The volume control is flimsy, and does not *always* work. On that note, the physical buttons work wonders! The quality of the music and microphone is also fantastic; you cannot fault Bose on this area. Aesthetically, while the headphone is designed beautifully (I have the gorgeous Soapstone), it rotates outwards so the L and R are facing outwards; which means people can see the inside. This is not the worst situation, but just keep this in mind.In that regard, would I recommend it?(a) Design- yes and no. (i) yes, the design is sleek and modern, and it feels fantastic to the touch; but also (ii)no, because of the fault in the rotation design.(b) Sound quality- yes, Bose did well with the 700.(c) ANC- no. I was completely disappointed.(d) charging time- yes, I tend to charge all my electronics at night, the headphone did not run out of charge during the day.So it depends on you. I would not *not* recommend it; it is still a FAR BETTER option than any beats product. For average use, I would recommend it. It is one of the BEST headphones, for quality and design, out there. But if you compare if with MX4 and QC35ii, you might see a difference. I kept mine because the pros far exceeds the cons; the only thing I genuinely dislike about 700 is the way it rotate outwards.
