Great pump
This pump was a replacement for a Danner that lasted 20 plus years.

Good Durable Pump
I have been using one of these pumps in my backyard fountain for the past 22 years. It provided perfect service running running 24 hours a day every day. It finally died and I was happy to see that the exact same model was still available. The new one will probably last longer than I will, judging by past performance. I used it with the Pondmaster 2000 GPH submersible filter which probably helped it to run as long as it did. Bought another of those as well.

Great pump except for ceramic shaft
This is a fantastically great pump. I would give it 10 out of five stars if it had a stainless steel shaft. I have had three of them in continuous use for 10 to 20 years in my ponds and fish tanks. The problem arises if a MTS snail or other object gets by the pre filter (and they do), the ceramic shaft breaks and the impeller assembly needs replacing, which fortunately is a simple but bothersome task. If the impeller is intact (which it frequently is) and just the shaft is broken, the pump still works, but is quite noisy.I have tried other pumps, but none have worked better or lasted longer than a Danner Mag-Drive pump, in spite of the ceramic shaft manufacturing deficiency.

This pump is a waste of money
I have been using a Danner 1800 GPM pump on my koi pood skimmer for the past 12 years. The pump runs 24/7. The last 2 pumps lasted about 6 years each. When my last pump started making noise I went to order a new one. I noticed that a lot of the recent reviews were not very good. I decided to order the pump any way because of my past experience with the same pump. Did I ever make a mistake. The new pump arrived and I installed it on my skimmer. The flow was less then then my prior pumps. I t started making noise after several days. I ordered a new impeller. After I installed a new impeller in the new pump it was quieter and the flow increased. The flow was still not as much as my past pumps. After a month it started making noice and the flow totally stopped. It was used so I could not return it. What a total piece of junk! I went on line and found a pump made by Atlantic that would fit on my skimmer with few modifications. The pump worked great loots of flow. It cost more but is so worth the price. I have several other Danner pumps on my pond. When they go bad I will not purchase another Danner. All of the recent negative reviews are correct.

Long-lasting design, easily replaceable parts
This is the fourth Danner pump I've bought. The oldest is now 19 years old and still in use. The other two are about 15 years old and one was used submerged in a skimmer for about ten years. The stator is solid and waterproof to the extreme, as far as I can tell. I keep a replacement stock of rotors and volutes as those are wear and tear items. I bought this as a backup because I was thinking "How much longer can the other ones last?" Still going. I don't know why I would buy anything else.
