Mizithra Cheese, (1 lb)

and I'm delighted with it
Big chunk of mizithra that allows me to duplicate the Spaghetti Factory's Mizithra & browned butter topping for my spaghetti. I recently moved to Florida and the closest Spaghetti Factory appears to be in Utah. When I lived in California, I could buy the company's mizithra topping at Costco, but local Costco stores don't carry it. I gave Amazon/s seller a chance to sell me a pound of this cheese, and I'm delighted with it. I grate off a little pile, then re-wrap the chunk in stretch wrap and store it for the next use. So far I've had about a dozen plates of spaghetti with it, and there's enough cheese for a couple dozen more -- so this is well worth the price for this great-tasting alternative way to eat spaghetti. At the Spaghetti Factory I always (always) ordered the Manager's Favorite with half meat sauce and half Mizithra and browned butter, and that's easy to duplicate at home, now. All it needs to go with it is home-baked bread.

Delicious!
Great product and great supplier (FindFoods). Amazon messed up our original order, and when I realized it contacted the seller, they responded as well as fixed the issue immediately. Very polite and nice, too.As for the cheese, it's perfect. For those saying it's "too salty", you obviously don't know how Mizithra is made. It's aged from a soft cheese to a hard one covered in course salt, hence it's salty taste. It's not meant to eat like a slice of cheddar but it's delicious for cooking. I make Mitzithra with brown butter sauce over pasta with this and it's very good, my teenage son actually had SIX servings.I'll definitely be buying all my Mizithra here, from FindFoods.

Covered in mold within one week!
I bought this online after going to SIX stores to find this type of cheese so I could make Browned Butter Spaghetti (like Old Spaghetti Factory). I REALLY didn't want to spend this much or get such a large package but I figured it'd be worth it and I could make multiple batches over a couple weeks. The first batch was just ok. When I went to make a second batch a week later it was covered in MOLD 😭 I was so very sad that I spent so much money on this cheese that molded right away. Then, to kick me while I'm down, someone told me the The Old Spaghetti Factory actually sells this cheese, already shredded, for about $5!

Does the trick
I bought this cheese to replicate the Old Spaghetti Warehouse butter/mizithra cheese recipe. It is not quite as flavorful as I had hoped it would be. Most grocery stores do not carry mizithra cheese so had to order it on Amazon. It is fine, though, and I would probably order it again. It comes packaged very well in a cool pack. I also put the butter/mizithra cheese mixture on popcorn, which gives a nice flavor to the popcorn.

Not quite what I was looking for...
I got this cheese early and well packaged with an ice pack. I do wish they had an accurate delivery date because you do not want to leave food sitting, but it worked out ok for me.This cheese is not bad, but it is not the Mizithra I was hoping for. I was hopeful because someone said it is like the spaghetti factory cheese, but it is not. It is not a bad cheese and has a mizithra like texture. But, it is much less salty and sharp than the cheese I am seeking. Mizithra is very hard to find locally, and I was hoping this would be it. So, I can't say it's bad. But, its not the product I wanted. I don't know if this is just a different style of mizithra or a poor quality cheese. But, if you are looking for the deliciously sharp and salty mizithra for butter noodles, you might be disappointed.

Perfect!
Was delivered sooner than expected. I was so excited to be able to make homemade brown butter & Mazithra cheese spaghetti. I was concerned when I tasted it by itself because as one review stated, it is very salty.. but once it was on top of the spaghetti with the brown butter, it was perfection! I looked everywhere for this cheese, this is one of the reasons I love Amazon, you can find just about everything; and the company that makes this cheese has to be pretty awesome to have such a great product for such a reasonable price!

Cheese for dayzzzzz
Ok, seriously this cheese is legit. I moved to NY from the west coast and was craving Mizithra with browned butter spaghetti. I looked in every Greek/specialty cheese shop in the Bronx and Westchester area (there are a lot!) and NO ONE even knew what this cheese was! So...I forked over the $20 for a pound of this and hoped for the best. It was exactly as I remembered and totally worth it. Use this recipe for browned butter and you will not be disappointed: [...]

Very Bland
The first time I used this cheese was also the first time I made brown buttered noodles. They weren't very good and I blamed the cook. Before I took all the blame, though, I purchased Mizithra at a local Kroger and whipped up a second batch of noodles. What a difference. Although still not perfect, the second batch had the flavor I craved. On a third try, I divided the noodles into two sections using the two Mizithra cheeses, one on each section. The Kroger Mizithra totally and completely won. This cheese from "For The Gourmet" is Thumbs Down. If you're looking for that tangy, salty flavor, you won't find it with this company's Mizithra.
