Carrier Fan Coil Filter (16.5 x 21.5 x 1) KFAFK0212MED (317659-402) - Fits Bryant & Payne

I had inherited an old Bryant a.c. when i bought my condo and the filter that was in it was too small. Home depot or lowes does not carry this filter size. It is an odd size. I found the manual online and it showed that this is the exact part number for it. When I received it I went to install it and it wouldn't slide all the way in. I looked inside the unit and at the back there was a tab spring. So I slid the filter back in had to push it up at the back and at the same time push in. It then pushed in and fit perfectly. My only concern is that the filter media isn't very fine and it looks like it would only catch very large pieces of dust and dirt. I've had the filter installed for about a Mont and when I removed it it was clean except for a few pieces of large dust so I would recommend cleaning the coils in the air handler more often being it will probably let a lot more dirt and dust in compared to the pleated filters you buy at the hardware store. I'm sure the unit will run a lot more efficiently with this weave type filter. Though. Just make sure to check the fins and coil more often to see if it is dirty.

This is a great sturdy AC filter, however please note that this is not considered a permanent and/or washable filter. Typically this type of filter normally ships with new AC units. So you will still need to replace this filter depending on individual uses.

At first I was hesitant about buying this reusable filter, but after ordering disposable filters that arrived beat up and the material caused me to itch, I decided to try this Bryant/Carrier reusable filter. The Bryant/Carrier reusable filter is a well made product. The product dimensions are exactly as stated on the website. The fit was perfect, and the material did not cause me to itch. The filter was designed to permit proper air flow without letting in all of the contaminants. The filter was easy to clean. For cleaning, I first vacuumed the filter, then I poured some Lysol Multipurpose cleaner into a tote full of water. I placed the filter in the tote to disinfect the filter, and then, I removed the filter. Afterward, I rinsed the filter with a water hose. It only took a small amount of time to clean this filter. So, needless to say, I will be purchasing another one of these filters in the very near future, as I am satisfied with this product.

Perfect fit for my heat pump system. Made of quality materials and durable. Can be washed and reused multiple times and still works as intended.

This is the filter for my air conditioner. I dislike the fact that it does not come with instructions on whether or not it should be cleaned or just replaced . I also would love instructions on how to clean it. It works great because it’s the perfect size for the air conditioner.

I inherited a nasty filter from the previous owner of my house. I had never even seen a filter like this before. For starters, it goes directly into the air handler instead of the return vent. It's also what's known as a "permanent" filter, which means its made to be used over and over again. However, after using the same filter for a few years (hosing it off about every 3 months) it started to warp and the frame bent, leaving the filter half hanging out of the frame. I knew I needed a new one, and you can't just go to Lowes and get one of these because it's specific to the manufacturer. So you either have to get it through a Carrier dealer, or do like I did a look up the part number on Amazon. The filter arrived quickly and fit perfectly, and now I know where to get a new one when this one starts unraveling and warping.

This was identical to the one we are using for our HVAC system. Very sturdy and durable.

This wasn’t that easy to clean and unfortunately for the environment going back to disposable filters seems more practical.
