Christ-Centered Eschatology
This is a great introductory overview to Amillennialism specifically and eschatology in general. We ought to base all our doctrines on the Word of God and the goal of our doctrine should be love, faith, and a clear conscience (1 Timothy 1:5). Jonathan Ammon does an excellent job in following both of those principles in this accessible book. He starts with Jesus' own words about the end and finishes with the glorious hope of Jesus' return and how we ought to live as Christians in the "already, not yet" time. This book will not only clearly present the Amillennialist case, it will help you to grow in your relationship with Jesus! If you are looking for an in-depth scholarly work on all aspects of Biblical eschatology, this book will probably not satisfy that purpose but Ammon's straightforward approach to the subject is a great starting point for further study.

Eschatology for the children of God’s kingdom
An encouraging and clarifyng book about the end times. I would recommend it to all believers with the childlike faith we need in order to Enter the kingdom of God. Because I grew up with the confusing dispensational premillenialism and what I see as a lot of private interpretations of the Word in order to establish its teaching, I had to read the book twice to fully get back to the basic truths that Jesus teach about the end times, things I believed as a child. What made the strongest impression the second time I read the book, is how the kingdom of God already has conquered the kingdom of darkness because of the victory Jesus won and now spreads out on the earth. This teaching about the kingdom was inspiring. And Ammon shows us the importance and true meaning of the truth «now, but not yet» about the kingdom in an excellent way. There are only a couple of things I believe could be wrong, one of them are the comments about the verses in Matthew 24 in «Appendix: Jesus’s End Time Prophecies». I believe the prophecy of Daniel about 70AD is only verses 15-22, and that the following verses are about the times of tribulation and the final tribulation in the future. This makes it easier to understand why Jesus said his return is «immediately after the tribulation of those days..». But the comparison of how prophecies in the old testament were both about the present time and the future, and how it is the same pattern in Matthew 24, is the most important thing explained in this appendix.

Great, but Confusing with 2 People of God
The book is very concise. However, I noticed that a the very end, the author adopts the same position of dispensacional approach regarding a distinction between Israel and the church. For the author there is a plan for Israel in the future. It open he possibility to many questions. In general good content, except for that odia of 2 people of God, because it may mean 2 programs, 2 ages, 2 wives for God. That part didn’t make sense to me. So the author separated himself from the other amillennialist proponents.

one of the best on understanding amillennialism
As someone who has been on a journey for quite a while in terms of eschatology, this book was a great gift. It's one of the best books on understanding amillennialism that I've discovered. I always wondered why our seminaries so often start with a presupposed system, and then sought to fill that system with passages that appear to fit their system if you agree that the verse should fit the system by our pre-assumptions. Why not just start with a clear, simple understanding of the passages about the return of Christ--and then understand the more difficult passages in light of the clear passages, without trying to fit a pre-determined system? This book seeks to do that, and it does it amazingly. I was taught one system long ago as a young man and seminary student. But I've always struggled to agree that every claimed verse fits the system. So I've been on a journey that has taken me here, now, to this reading--and I read this book from start to finish in one (longer) sitting. My thanks to the author for a great book.

Great Introduction to Amillennialism
This short, easy-to-read book is exactly what I was looking for: a concise, basic introduction to the amillennial viewpoint. The author makes it clear in his excellent introduction that this is not the most in-depth exploration of amillennialism possible, but a look at the topic suitable for church laymen who may not be familiar with this perspective. As such, Jonathan Ammon succeeds in providing a remarkably clear and lucid defense of amillennialism without resorting to attacks on Christians who hold dissenting views of the End Times. The author's analysis of relevant Scriptural passages, including the Olivet Discourse, various parables, and of course Revelation, are reasonable and well-supported by chapter and verse. It is wise for all Christians to be familiar with differing viewpoints within the church, and to remember that we can still be brothers and sisters in Christ even if we disagree on matters of eschatology. In that spirit, if you are looking for a quick introduction to amillennialism, I would strongly recommend THE POWER OF HIS REIGN.

Not convinced!
I think he probably put forth he Amil viewpoint. But he definitely did not persuade me particularly in Matthew 24, Daniel, II Peter or the whole book of Revelation. By the way there was One GreatTribulation and it occurred in the first century (66-70AD).

Simple and helpful. Very good intro.
As someone raised in dispensational premillennialism, other prophetic views were just assumed to be absurd and contrary to Scripture. The view of amillennialism was one that I was told was over-spiritualizing and took the Bible out of context. After further Bible study its become very plain to me that it is actually the opposite. As the author reveals in this book, the amillennial view is very basic, simple and rooted in the Scripture. I read this book on a round trip plane ride. It's very easy to read and simple to understand. Its a great book for an intro. It was very helpful to me and I would highly someone read this book first before diving into some deeper amillennial books. This one is a great starting point.
