Was the right guitar delivered?
I consider myself an intermediate guitar player, who has learnt from playing electrics. My favourite guitar I own, is a Fender Jaguar. I tried a few years ago to span into acoustics, when I was offered a second-hand £199 guitar for £50. It’s an Epiphone and I found the action above the 5th fret on that guitar to be quite high, for my office worked-out nimble fingers! Reading the positive reviews for the Fender CD-60S and discovering it had a C-shape, and the fact it was reduced from £179 to £159, I thought I would give it a go.So, first impressions:It shipped in an Amazon cardboard box, within was a Fender cardboard box. The guitar itself, was wrapped in foam padding. Included is also a set of Allen keys for adjustment, and the guitar has one of those anti-moisture silicon sachets inside. The guitar certainly looks nice!OK, so what first? – An Em chord strum of course! And also of course, the guitar has been de-tuned for shipping. So, ten minutes looking for my acoustic tuner.Guitar is now tuned and back to the Em chord strum. Well, it’s got a very bright tone! I recently had a go on a friends £500+ Taylor acoustic, and it sounded very similar. After playing several open chords, I though I’d go all experimental and try some single note playing. The first thing I noticed, is the incredible sustain (Spinal Tap moment!).Next, I played each note up the neck, individually. No dead or duplicate notes! After an hour or two of playing, I didn't have to retune it.It takes (at least for me), a while to get used to the neck shape from a D to a C from my other acoustic, might be a psychological thing, as my Fender Jaquar also has a C-shaped neck and I have no problem playing that. After having it for a few weeks I have yet to fault it. The only minor dis I have, is that the ‘pick-guard’ appears to be nothing more than just a sticker – Not a problem, and if it does become one, I am sure a cheap alternative can be found.

Build quality and intonation.
I orederd this guitar as a back up instrument. I am almost 86 yeras old and play very little these days due to quite severe Osteoartritis. However I play when I can and enjoy it. The instrument arrived very safely packed and it is extremely well built and a pleasure to look at. I had read that others found the action low. It is certainly very comfortable to play up to the third fret but when I moved up the dusty end to play in Bb or Eb it was a little high for me. This may be the guage of strings. Because of Artritis I use Elixir .010 to .047 Nanoweb coated strings and will be changing to these in a day or so. The instrument is fitted with two strap buttons which is important to me since I always use a strap. I would advise begginers to do likewise so as to be able to concentrate on fretting without the left hand also balancing the instrument. I am very impressed indeed with the sound quality but will reserve saying anymore about this until I have changed to much lighter strings. This guitar is much more than an entry level instrument and I would certainly be happy to stand up and play it in a folk club as an accompanist (I can't sing and play at the same time!). I say this having owned and played several Martin giutars in my younger days. It is a full size instrument! A bargain at the price.

Great guitar
I have been playing this guitar for about two months. And I could not be happier with it. I do recommend taking it to a shop to adjust it, as it makes playing easier.
