Q: Can a full grown adult wear an XL version of this costume? I typically wear a size 34 in suits.

I don't know. I bought a L for my Grandson and he was in 5th grade at the time and by far not the biggest kid in his class. I guess you could try.

Q: I have a Husky 8 year old who normally wears a size 16 would this costume fit him? He has a Wax Museum project on Beethoven.

Because the costume is the jacket, and the child wears their own pants, I think it should fit your son. I bought An XL for my daughter when she was 11 years old and wearing a girls 12-14; I don't know how that compares to boys sizes, but the XL fit her well and she is not a twiggy girl, she's pretty muscular. Good luck!
