Works Well With Super Session F
Nice sound and feel between Java Red and Zz if you play Vanduren. Not as muted as Java Red for me. Pretty similar to ZZ hard to hear a big diff but these are USA. Also love the sound on a Jody HR. All these reed reviews really same message that you have to try them with your setup, your embrochure, your style. You will still sound like you with slight differences among similar reeds. Any Rico will not be junk nor will it be a magic pill, so to go try. I just wish it were easier to get smaller packs in Sopr to try like Vanduren Jazz Mix card. Don’t like having to buy 10 to try 1.

A very average reed
When I ordered I asked for 2 boxes of soprano reeds and received 1 box of soprano and 1 box of alto. I have been using rico reeds for 60 years and this cur is not as good as it used to be.

Great reeds!
I just received these reeds, and wow! I normally use Rico Select Jazz reeds, but didn't see them offered anywhere so I decided to give the Royals a try. The sound is much brighter than I'm used to and it took awhile for me to decide I liked it (I might try a 3 next time). I get a clear, easy tone from low B flat to high F sharp and everything in between.I will say these would probably not be my choice for alto or tenor, but for the soprano, I can readily recommend Royal.

Very consistent quality.
I only found ONE reed in about 40 that was dreadful and only because I wasn't prepared to 'doctor' it myself. That's a pretty amazing average considering you're dealing with a natural (and therefore unpredictable) product.Rico have their manufacturing down as I find the tone and response of each reed very even and consistent, straight out of the box. I would recommend these wholeheartedly.

Bueno para el precio
A pesar que no soy principiante, estás cañas me dejaron una excelente opinión.

Rico Royal soprano sax reeds
I've been using Rico reeds for years. I know there are more expensive reeds out there, and I have tried some of them...but with these #3 soprano sax reeds .....I just take one out of the box and it performs well for me. They are consistent and last for a long time.....I also use Rico Royals on alto sax. A dependent and all around quality set of reeds. Monterey Mike

Exactly what I needed!
I'd purchased a soprano sax and was never quite happy with it. The tone wasn't quite right. But all I had were harder reeds. I decided I wanted to try a softer reed, and there were none to be found until I found these. It had never occurred to me to check Amazon, but my husband suggested it, and there they were. The exact same brand I usually buy from the music store, in the strength I wanted, at less than 1/2 the price!! How can I beat that?!?!

My second favourite
RICO royal does not need reviews. They are the market for so long already. My first Choice is La Voz medium hard but it is quite hard to find, so I use RICO royal 3. I tried almost all famous brands but ended up coming back to it. Of course, as in any other box of wooden mouthpieces, there will be some useless cuts. For this reason, I suggest going to the shop and testing read by read against the light to see if it has got a fine cut and fill your box only with the good ones, but if you cannot do that, the only way is to risk buying the box blindfolded.

Ance assolutamente professionali.
Conosco queste ance da anni:sono ottime. Do 4 stelle solo perché in una scatola c'è ne sono sempre alcune un po' afone (del resto è un problema di tutte le ance naturali /non sintetiche).

Durable, play well.
Finding my soprano sax much easier to play, now that I have the 'Royal' reeds. It isn't just the name.

Great for soprano sax
Really good for the soprano saxophone. I'm restarting saxophone after 20 years and can play the tenor and alto happily with grade 3 strength reeds. I tried grade 2 for the soprano and squeaked away. With these grade 1.5 reeds I was happily playing old pieces and scales and improvising.
