Sturdy and a good fit

I'm on the 3rd crank arm now.The first one lasted over 15K miles, though for the last few thousand the splines were so mushroomed that it would bottom out on the spline shaft, stay loose, and unscrew itself within 50 miles of riding. I ended up drilling a hole in the arm and the bolt and adding a safety wire to tide me over.The second lasted 200 miles. Perhaps I didn't install it right, or neglected to re-torque it. Could've been user error, though I did follow the instructions, used a torque wrench.The third and current one has held on for a few hundred miles now. I torque it down with a torque wrench after each ride and intend to do so for the first 1000 miles or so, just to be sureThe splines on the chainring side are starting to get loose too now, though those lasted about 20K miles so far.Bottom line - it works, and if you have powerspline bottom bracket, it's not like you have many options... but it does not appear to be particularly durable.

I bought this to replace the original crank arm that my son stripped. Within 30 days of installation, he was grounded again - stripped splines on crank arm. It may just be an inherently poor design for large people. He is a big kid (15 and 6'7" at 240lbs) and likes to ride the fire roads hard. I am considering getting a different bb design and new crank and then keep the bike for myself. My son will get a new full suspension bike in 2XL size. It has a hollow BB and crank 24mm and looks bullet proof. This Truvativ Blaze isn't the best quality as it doesn't hold up for large people.
