BeadBuster XB-450i Bead Breaker for ATV/Motorcycle / 4x4 / Truck/Auto/Lawn Mower

I don't write a lot of reviews but after using this amazing little tool I had to share my experience. I was working on some old ATV's that had very old tires essentially "welded" to the rims. I tried EVERY trick in the book, several from online, a few innovative ideas of my own, many cuss words and bloody knuckles and 4 hours trying to get the beads to break with no luck. Defeated I went to find a better solution.As an old physics teacher and current mechanical engineer I was impressed with the design concept of the Bead Buster. It was one of the only designs that uses the geometry of the wheel and simple mechanical advantage to pry the bead away from the rim and OVER the retaining "rib" found in most ATV wheels. I debated heavily on going with the cheaper China made version of this but decided to support the original creator and USA made version that cost a bit more.My experience: once I got the tool I was so excited to try it out, I went out to "play" with it during my lunch break and after 20 minutes I had both of the tires I was working on broken loose and off the rims. Amazing performance! I have now used this to change 6 different ATV tires and think it is an excellent tool, maybe little overpriced but it WORKS! It is very easy to use, especially if you have a cordless impact/drill to run the bolts in and out.Some tips for REALLY stuck tires: 1) use soapy water around the bead 2) after setting the rim bolt (the one that pinches to the rim) work the bead breaker bolt (the one on the tire) down 3/4 of the way and back it off 3) loosen both bolts and move the bead buster 3-4" around the tire and do it again 4) repeat step #3 until you work your way around the tire to break things loose 5) on the second pass, run the tire bolt all the way down 6) after a few more tries it will almost for sure start to break the bead and you can use a bar or something to hold it if you need. 7) Be PATIENT, it can take 2 full passes to get the tire to finally flex enough to stay off the beadNOTE: if you try to go to fast and drive the bolt down all the way you may puncture the tire and fail to break the bead. Make slow moves and you WILL get them off. I had some extremely stubborn tires and eventually got all them off.

Effortless and painless tire removal. Saw a video of this in use and immediately ordered one. It's not like I change tires daily but when the time comes you know you can get it done with ease and properly. Seems solid and should last awhile. Stores away nicely.

The XB-450i Bead Breaker is the ticket! I watched a few videos while I waited on Amazon to deliver the Bead Breaker. I needed new rear tires on my Hustler Fast Track mower, it has 20x10-10 rear tires. Took it out of the box, removed the stem so all the air would escape. Sprayed the bead and rim area with a soapy solution. put the bead breaker on and used a small impact driver to tighten and loosen each of the 3/4" bolts. It was fast and simple. I used some tire spoons I ordered off of amazon to get the tire off the rims once the beads were busted. I removed both tires in about 15 minutes. It took 2-3 minutes to bust the beads loose with the XB-450i. When I finished I applied some grease back on the bolts like they had when it arrived. If you follow the directions, it very easy to remove a tire from a rim. Great design and well made right here in the USA!!

Works great. Breaks beads on stubborn ATV tires that my shops tire machine couldn't do.

Worked very well on a 12" garden tractor tire. Fair on 15" SUV tires with stiff sidewalls.Better than a board and jack.A bit expensive.

The media could not be loaded. This makes breaking beads an easy deal. This thing is well built and fees sturdy. I find it easy to use and is much more efficient than using something that isn't meant for breaking beads and then smashing a wheel (ask me how I know)

Great tool! Wish I would've bought the Bead Buster a long time ago. If you are the type of person who does their own tire change and want to save space or want something small and portable, then this is the tool for you. Easy to use. Breaking the bead was a breeze. Won't leave a mark on the wheel. Using an impact gun with a 19mm socket will allow the tool to work faster. Extremely happy with this tool!

This thing is fantastic! I used it to break the beads on my car tires so I could change the pressure sensors and it made easy work of it. I didn’t even have to take the tires off the car. I highly recommend it and the optional extended clamp arm.
