Excellent "tool" for dealing with loose hard drives
This is an excellent "tool" for dealing with hard drives that are loose/not connected. Quick and easy to plug into a loose drive and then plug into my laptop's eSata port.

eSATA cable to SATA DRIVE
eSATA Cables to SATA DRIVES are good, but its after the facts no fault of the seller the cable don't work for TIVOS.I am keeping the Cable, I can use it for other hardware.

Heck ya,This thing cooks!
I've got an old dell first gen i7 laptop. Great screen, great keyboard, built like a tank. Plenty fast. But only USB 2.0. It has one of those combo usb/sata ports, that I've never used. HOLY SH**. What a difference. Great for hooking up external storage such as an SSD or 2.5" HDD. It will not power a 3.5" HDD, those need more voltage. My old DELL can now move data externally at 275MB/s!!!! My old USB 2.0 ports are good for about 30MB/s. Almost 10x improvement. WOOOOOT

Very situationally specific, but works GREAT
The media could not be loaded. As long as you have the correct port, these will work beautifully. Powers a full size 5.25in disc drive even under heavy load. Also works with 3.5in drives. They DO NOT plug into regular eSATA ports. You need an eSATAp port for this to work. Overall I’m very happy I found this product and would buy again.

Good product with one flaw
After getting this cable connected it worked well. Setup was a problem as the 12v connector was a major pain. The pins are extremely sloppy and refused to line up with the computer's connector. After about 10 minutes of fussing with it, it finally lined up and then worked well.

Beware of 5V already in the molex connector
5 stars for 2.5in drivers. 2 stars for 3.5in drivers, but it can work. Thanks to one of the reviewers, I was aware that the molex connector already got 5V from the eSATAp connector. I have connected to my laptop eSATAp and actually measured 5V on the red (+5V) / black (GND) wire pair. One can ONLY connect 12V [to the other pair: yellow (+12V)/black] in order to drive a 3.5in HD. 2.5in drivers only need the 5V already present from the eSATAp port.I am going to just cutoff the red wire (and insulate it) because it is not needed and will cause trouble if an external 5V source is accidentally connected (one reviewer lost a 3.5in HD).If your eSATAp port is from a desktop (which I don’t have), I suggest you connect the adapter and measure the voltages on the red and yellow wires. 5V will probably be there, the 12V may or may not be.And, by the way, the 4-pin “molex” type connector is of low quality, as pointed out by many reviewers. If you have to use it, I suggest to carefully plan and connect it only once. I am using a better quality female/male molex adapter with mine, and do not intend to ever remove it.Finally: for the price, it is a good value. It worked without any issues with my 1TB, 2.5in HD. I have not tried yet with a 3.5in drive, but it should work, if one takes care of the issues discussed above.

does not power SSD or spinning disk
the power feature from the 5v usb either does not work or 5v is insufficient to power a disk
