The ESTWING Hammer - 12 oz Curved Claw is well sized for nearly all hammering. Not too heavy, but ample for most work. The quality is obvious. A must for a person desiring super quality hammer.

Strong hammer
This will be my go-to hammer from now on. I haven't got the arm to swing a 16 or 20 oz hammer. The 12 oz has always been my go-to hammer. I've had a 12 oz hammer with wooden handle for years but after using this one, I think it seems to hit harder. May be the head angle or shape but just feels right.

Needed a hammer for my essential tool kit
I was updating my tool kit to be sure I had all the essential tools for the home, and to make sure all those tools were of the best quality. From the very first time I picked it up, I could tell this is one of those USA made hammers that will last me for life (so long as I don't lose it).
