Quality budget soundbar
I looked at various soundboard from £100 to £500 and almost missed this one; glad I didn't!Pros. Clear rounded sound. Works well with movies and music. Speech is clear. Sub adds bass which is particularly noticeable with dby Atmos enhanced movies. For comparison purposes I also have a Q M2 sound base that What Hifi and others rave at for this price point and would say Wharfedale gives a much better sound, simply richer and better range.Cons. Designed to est fit a 55 inch TV or longer. Not really offering a surround sound experience but it is only £200.

Excellent Sound - Terrible Remote
Having owned this system for a few months now, I've got to say that I am very impressed. I'll go through the good and the bad.Firstly, the subwoofer is essential. I know you can buy the sound bar on its own, but the subwoofer is necessary to go from a nice sound to a great audio experience. The balance is great on this system. It's easy to hear dialogue (on all 3 settings - I tend to keep mine on movie mode as it does everything pretty well). On movies, the music is really well handled even if it's in the background. The soundbar is very good at directional balance as well, to you get a good stereo experience. Things like explosions, powerful engines and gunfire all sound epic, although I have the bass level pretty much on full.I have much more expensive stereo setups than this one, but this really is very very good for the price. Apart from one thing.....THE REMOTE CONTROL!The remote control is one of those very small ridiculous cheaply made things that you find when you buy alarm clocks that have remote controls...etc.It does the job. The buttons work fine and all of the functions you need are on it. Because it's small you tend it lose it very easily if you're not careful. Because it's cheap, it means using the volume up and down buttons can be pretty annoying and borderline frustrating. Here's a tip.....use an aux cable to connect to your TV. Reason: Firstly, the soundbar will turn on when it detects sound through this method. Secondly, you can use your TV remote to turn up and down the volume. Just set the system to almost full volume and bass using the Wharfdale remote, and then adjust with your TV one. Trust me, it's so much easier.Bluetooth is easy to connect and the subwoofer just connects when the soundbar turns on, so it's nice and straightforward.I would love to give this thing 5 stars, because the important stuff (sound, build quality, ease of use) is of a very high quality. But the remote is just terrible. If Wharfedale just spent a bit more money on getting a better remote control for this thing, it would be pretty much perfect.

How did I not get this sooner!
Arrived today after speaking to the people at wharfedale for advice... set up in 5 minutes and wow I'm glad I bought this!I wasn't even bothered about a sub woofer but it came with the soundbar and even without the sub its impressive! Nice little Xmas present for myself and I recommend anyone to get this! Sound is incredible and options to toggle sound types us a click away... roll on a mandalorian re-watch tonight!

Wharfedale lost its way in China
Not enough woonf ...translated it mean sound output, my TV speaker out strip these add ons which they shouldn't. The sub is nearly non existent in its performance. Perhaps and only perhaps I've not got them set up correctly but so far they are a big disappointment. I read others reviews and bought on the strength of that. Ho hum gone have the days of trying them in a shop.I'm sure if you use this for gaming it might do but as a ballsy system to give films a depth they are very poor. The wall mounting clips are ugly and the screws provided provided are chrome. For goodness sake Wharfedale I'm not mounting a gas boiler now am I.I had to work two whole days to buy this rubbish. I'm doubly disappointed as I've had a whole array of Wharfedale book shelf, centre and tower speakers over the years which have all been excellent. Ah well, my last Wharefdales me thinks. Anyone want a cheap set there going on EB.

Not what you expect from wharfdale. Avoid.
I'm with the other disappointed reviewers here. I've purchased wharfdale in the past and expected a lot better for 200 quid. I mean, not hi-fi but something pleasing to listen to. Unfortunately, everything about this product is good, except for the actual sound! The sound from the main bar distorts at high frequencies, the sub flutters badly and struggles to do anything other than go "whoomp". There's just no definition on the bass frequencies. Worst of all it completely cuts out at lower volumes, like it's turned off. There also appears to be a gap between the frequencies from the soundbar and the sub, so the two speakers end up sounding like separate entities instead of giving a joined up sound like one source. Tried everything over a couple of days to get good sound out of this product. Failed and returned with sadness. :(

Good choice of sound bar
Very easy to set up (HDMI arc). Woofer seemed huge! Lots of inputs. Used with TV - but also with tablet/phone bluetooth for music (just select bluetooth input on remote). Sound with BT music very strong and impressively good. TV sound also good - but not as loud as BT input. But this has not been a specific problem yet. Nice to have remote - but it's seriously titchy! Difficult to read buttons because of lack of contrast. Easy to lose in furniture, and it has more controls than on the bar itself! Very glad we chose the Wharfedale.

Deep sound
The sound is good, had 5.1 system before but this has more bass. The remote control is not as bad as some make out. Yes small but once set up it's unlikely you will need to use it much again.
