The Flash by Geoff Johns Omnibus Vol. 1

The Wally West Show
This is the first of two volumes of the Flash written by Geoff Johns. This is an over sized hardcover with thick glossy paper and a table of contents with page numbering. It's easy to see why a generation of comic fans love Wally West so much with runs like this. That's why it was so heart breaking for them when the New 52 pretty much erased him from DC history. Geoff Johns is a legend of a comic writer. This is just another example of his great work. Johns nails Wally and his supporting cast. Wally is a blue collar superhero that loves his friends and family. Johns treats every character with respect. Even those dastardly rogues! The city Wally protects, Keystone City, is a hard working union town. Heck, even the rouges unionize. Johns makes Wally his own Flash as someone who deeply cares for his city and people. The stories are entertaining. The villains are interesting. This run has it all.The artwork is awesome. It's mostly done by Scott Kolins. He has a simplistic cartoony style that really captures the spirit of the series. The other artists do a standout job as well.Gotta wait for volume two to come out next year. Hope it goes by in a flash!

Good Introduction to Wally West.
This book is my first taste of the Flash by Geoff Johns, and my first taste of Wally West in comic book form, and dare i say, it exceeded my hopes. Loved this book. 10/10a

This is the best run I have read from a true superhero
Flash is my favorite superhero, and Wally West is the best Flash. This Geoff John run is amazing. The way Wally is developed, and his character arc in these stories are top notch. Geoff Johns take some of the most goofy Flash’s villains, and develop their humanity in a way that you just want to read more about them. Who would have thought that pairing a more serious bloody villain like Murmur with a goof like Trickster would work? Well it does! The art is good as well and as the book progresses it gets better and better. I’m not sure why DC never made a movie out of Wally, because this is some of the best stories I’ve read in comics. Not totally dark a la Batman or Daredevil, but not that lighthearted either. A must buy for any fan of this genre.

Wally West is the BEST Flash!
Hands down, Wally West is and will always be my favorite Flash. This collection by Geoff Johns kicks off some of the best stories featuring Wally as the Flash. The Omnibus collection itself is impressive. I was initially worried about the binding and how well this would hold up, but it seems quite sturdy and well put-together. If anything changes, I will update my review, but so far the quality is excellent.Overall, this is a great purchase for fans of the fastest man alive!

Starts out slow, but picks up magnificently!
Recently getting into The Flash, and this is a darn good read!Johns needs no intro if you're familiar with his legendary Green Lantern run, and for his fantastic JLA and Aquaman runs. (Yeah, Aquaman!) I'm not a huge fan of his Superman and Batman runs, and I go both ways with his Justice League run, but we aren't here to talk about that haha.If you enjoy Wally West as the Flash (my favorite!), pick up Mark Waid Omnibus as well. Mark adds so much lore and makes Wally and his supporting characters super endearing. Johns builds a lot on Mark's work to tell us some riveting stories, while elevating the Rogues to Batman villain-like levels. No joke! You know what? Part 2 ups the stakes manifold with more action, more drama etc. Blitz is one of my favorite Flash arcs of all time. Simply masterful storytelling!

Some of the best.
I learned a lot from Wally West and his life in this book. A lot was added to his character and the Rougues. A definite must read!.. Art was great to ok at times. But the story was some of the best I have read.
