Best Bargain In Bike Lights
I hoped when I ordered this light that it would at least somewhat mimic the brightness and functionality of cycle lights costing 5 - 8 times as much, but I was ready to be disappointed. One thing I've learned about bicycle equipment purchases is you get what you pay for. Very often, merchandise coming out of China ends up being of lesser usefulness than the flashy advertisements promise.Boy, was I surprised with this light. It's damn bright! Very close in brightness to the best, most expensive lights on the market. For $22.99 it's absolutely THE BEST BARGAIN IN BIKE LIGHTS ON THE MARKET TODAY!I use a front light mostly for daytime riding in some busy traffic and need an annoyingly bright flashing light that pisses off oncoming drivers with its eye wrenching pop. I'm amused by polite riders who claim they don't want to make drivers go blind with their lights. I do. That's what safety is all about during the daytime. It's got to grab their attention in noonday sun. This light does that. The light comes with 3 steady light modes -high, medium, low, and two flashing modes, regular flash, and a morse code *** ---*** SOS mode, I guess for use when you've been burned on a spy mission in Russia and need Lawyers, Guns, and Money. Here are two possible issues I have with the light that keeps it from a perfect 100 rating. The clamp that comes with the light is just barely big enough to fit a modern high end handle bar. I have a 2014 Felt Z-85 and I had to loosen the clamp screw almost till it fell out to get it mounted on my bar. Once on, it's no problem at all as you just unclip the light for recharging, leaving the clamp in place. I suppose if I had taken out the removable rubber shim from the clamp it would create a larger diameter circumference to work with. That said, in the end I got it attached with the rubber shim between the bar and the clamp. I would just make a suggestion to the manufacturer to make the clamp just a little bigger.I have not used the light at night yet and will report back on it's functionality when I do. But one thing I will be on guard for is whether the light has a wide enough beam spread to illuminate peripheral objects as well as what's directly in front of me.The light is a little too heavy for helmet mounting, but who cares. Get a less heavy, less bright light if you want that.Functionality in the rain is also something I will report back on in the future. As a bonus the light comes with an acceptable, if not deadly bright red rear tail light. It's not the best in the world, but what do you want for nothin'? I use it on my helmet along with a Flare RT red flasher on the seat post.So far I'm rating this light 98! Awesome deal. Blind your friends and enemies. Send out SOS's in the night and see what happens. Never get jealous of the rich guy down the street with the 13 lb. Cervelo carbon fiber race bike and US Race Team jersey -poser that he is. Blind him with the light instead.UPDATE JULY 16, 2020:The clamp that holds the light on my handlebars broke. I was trying to loosen the clamp to change the angle of the light, and a little piece of the plastic broke in a location that makes the clamp useless, and so I could no longer mount the light. Since Amazon was the fulfillment provider for this order, I looked to see what support they provided. Unfortunately, after a year, they don’t provide support. So I took a chance and emailed [email protected] and to my surprise I received an immediate response from a fellow named Sam, who is a co-owner of the company. Most likely, he was communicating to me from somewhere in Asia, probably China. He told me not to worry. He would send another clamp free of charge even though I offered to pay. And he told me it would arrive in a week. That’s fast coming from China (possibly he had a supply already within the USA?). The clamp actually arrived in less than a week. And it wasn't just the clamp. He sent me a whole new light! Bottom line: Sam and Yosky provided a truly excellent customer experience and support. If only every company was this customer-centric. I’m now a bigger fan of Yosky than I already was. 5 Stars! Thanks Sam!I’ve noticed that the price of the light has gone up to $35. This is more than I paid for it, but I still rate it a bargain. With Tariff Man Trump doing his stupid best on a subject he doesn’t understand, I’m sure these tariffs are being passed onto consumers. Plus, the Covid epidemic has caused delays and added costs related to shipping from China. Hopefully in the future prices will come down as things get back to normal.I also want to update my experience riding in rain at night. I’ve been using the light for almost a year in all kinds of weather, and it is rainproof. So no problem there. For night riding the light is good to see the imperfections on the road or riding surface in front of you. The beam spread is moderate, with the area about 10 ft. wide illuminated, obviously the front illuminated more than the periphery. But this is fine. There has to be a trade off between beam spread and lumens. And I’m sure this is true for lights costing much more. Nevertheless, I find myself wanting another one of these to really have car-like illumination. Again, that would be the case with almost any light. This is not an automobile light, it’s a bike light. And for a self contained item that weighs 6.75oz, it packs a wallop.

great value
I've had a lot of bike lights over the years and this one is really good. Great design and light output and reasonable battery length. This is for my second bike since I liked it enough to re-purchase. The back light USB interface could be a little better but it's free and a net positive.

Great light but needs better mount
Bought two of these lights one for me and one for my wife. Love the light. It lights up nicely as I ride early in the morning before the sun comes up. Makes me very visible to oncoming cars and others. The problem I have with it is that the mount broke. Like someone else said the mount is not that user friendly, would be better if it had a bottom screw mount. I use a clip style shoe so falls are inevitable when you have to deal with sudden stops, cars that run stop signs, wildlife and the occasional whoops. After the first fall (not severe) the light clip assembly broke. I glued it on using gorilla glue but that didn't last too long, the next fall it came right off and then today, not even after a fall but a confused dismount, the light came loose, just glad I saw it before it hit the ground.I like this light and recommend if you are not using clip shoes but it would be nice if they would sell a better mounting system or have some sort of replacement mount. So I got a road bike and will keep both bikes. However, I have a dual mount for my phone and a light but the light needs a gopro type adapter that will slide into the YOSKY. I'm looking at making my own and it's almost cheaper to just buy a new YOSKY and fiddle with that adapter to attach it to a gopro fitting. As far as the broken mount, I was able to epoxy it into place. There really isn't any way to make any adjustments there. I haven't really tried to fiddle with it. Since my wife owns one I might play with hers but I'd much rather not break hers.

Yosky USB Rechargeable Bike Light - Good Value - Great Customer Service Support
This is a follow-up review. I purchased the Yosky light kit last August and have been using it steadily (2-3 times per week) since then. In early morning light, it is very bright and puts a lot of light onto the road. The rear red light is very nice, very visible and easy to remove and charge. For daytime riding I really like the strobe effect (alternate flashing) feature. Some people made comments on the length of time the charge lasts on the headlight. My experience is I can get 3-4 1-hour rides in before having to re-charge. I checked this with the local Bike Doctor bicycle shop and when compared to other name brand bike lights, this is pretty comparable. The Yosky light is easy to remove from its bracket and is easy to charge. I have noticed that the blue lights go from 4 - 2 rather quickly, but not a big deal.I wanted to make note of the high level of customer service. My Yosky headlight recently had a charging port failure and I had to use a different (not as good) headlight for an upcoming ride. I contacted the Yosky web site/e-mail address. Sam from Yosky responded immediately and asked when and where I purchased. I provided a receipt from Amazon and Sam agreed to replace the light within 7 days. True to his word, a new light kit, including rear red light, arrived by UPS in 4-5 days. I used the new headlight on my next ride and everything was fine. Not many companies would stand by their product a year later! I have to applaud Yosky for sticking by their product.
