Does what it should, does it well.
This mount was very easy to figure out and use. To attach it is very easy, and despite the fact that the mounting arms and mechanism holding them feel rather cheap, we have used it at least a dozen times so far without a problem. It is easy to detach and stick under a seat, even with the DVD player attached. Unlike another reviewer, my player does not have a swivel screen so accessing the controls is not ideal, but once you stick the DVD in and hit 'play' or 'play all', you don't need to do much else. After two times, you have memorized the location of 'on', 'off', and the volume controls. On my car (a crossover SUV), the screen is kind of high for my 2 and 4 year old to view comfortably, something solved easily by tilting the screen down (making it more 'closed'). In my spouse's car, a mid-size sedan, it was much more at their eye-level without pushing it down. The hook and loop closures (velcro) work well, and hold the player securely. The only issue I have, and it is minor and situation specific, is that after leaving it in a 95 degree car for a few hours, the glue holding the velcro in place sort of melted, and when I opened it to change the DVD, it came off. I was able to stick it back in place, but since then it has been a little less 'stuck'. I foresee having to Gorilla glue it myself in the near future.

LOVE this item!!!
We are going on a driving trip, and I wanted a mount for our portable DVD player in the car. All the ones I had seen previously were held on by webbing straps and not really secure. They flip easily and never quite stay in the right position. I saw this and liked the fact that it's held on much more stiffly. When I got it, I was extremely happy with it. Both arms are on springs, so they are always the exact tension they need to be, no flopping around. The base is very stable and the straps to hold the portable DVD on are adjustable for any size player. The base swivels slightly, so if one child is playing, the other one can watch. It literally took 1 minute to install in my car. I am not kidding! You know that feeling you get when you get the item you bought does EXACTLY what you want it to do? That slightly euphoric feeling that finally, someone made a product that worked? That's what I felt when I got this in the mail. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone who wants to mount a DVD player in the car. Could not ask for a better product.

Universal mount works well
We use this in our mini-van on day-long trips. It is not the sturdiest product one can imagine, but it has held up well over 2 years of occassional use. It is strong enough to hold the 7" DVD player, and even the external battery pack (we usually use on airplanes) when its not convinient to plug the DVD into the car. My brother-in-law, who lives in europe, was impressed enough with how it kept my 4 and 3 year old quiet for 9 hours (multi-episode home-made DVDs of their favorites, like Sesame Street, lasting 3-4 hours are great!) that he asked us to send him one and we did.It mounts instantly and easily in any car or van with front headrests on metal "stalks", and "sags" at just the right angle for viewing, and may be turned a few degrees left or right. One caveat, shown but not stressed in the simple instruction sheet, is that when you slide in the legs to store it, they MUST be turned on their little turntable mount so they slide exactly into protective braces. If they aren't, they're subject to breakage with very little force.

Exactly as advertised but NOT a good idea for small cars
This was exactly what they advertised. Easy to install, keeps DVD player steady. Nothing wrong with the mechanics at all. Huge problem for small cars though. I didn’t even think about it but it blocked my entire view in the rear window. Made switching lanes a huge issue with lack of visibility. My car is smaller so it might be fine for a larger vehicle if you’re up high in the air though.

Great Product, Great Price. Kids in both van rows could watch the movies.
At first I thought I received a broken one because the platform piece was sort of angled rather than straight and I couldn't get it to rotate at all. When I decided to use it anyway I discovered it DOES rotate angles, but the arms have to be outstretched to do so. Just a little tip. I was also pleased to discover the platform piece can slide left or right on the arms if you wish to. This may be helpful if you want it off-centered.When DVD player was completely open it's hard to see out the back window, but the kids could see well enough with the screen tilted down a little.I hoped to use this with my laptop instead of my portable DVD player and finagled a way to make it work until I realized I couldn't see out my back window at ALL. Lol. So at least in a 2001 Sienna it only works for small media devices like the intended portable DVD player.

Lifesaver!
This mount is universal, so it works for pretty much any DVD player. Our DVD player did not come with its own mount. We bought one at Walmart that had all these little straps that were supposed to tether the DVD player to the back of the seats. It was horrible! It never held the player in the right spot and was not sturdy. My friend had this one, and I just had to get it. It holds it up just right. It's simple, compact, and sturdy. Great design. Fits just nicely between the seat heads.

Did it's job... but it's flimsy!
I think that the idea was great. It has it's function... but it's really flimsy. The plastic connections are hollow, so it feels like it's going to snap easily! I think that they should go back to the drawing board and make it better. It's a buy because you have to, more than anything. For the price, it's okay. Overall, if there is something, anything in the market that may be an option - get that one instead!
