Q: I have a 54 inch chest, will this fit?

They run extremely small. If anything I’ll suggest you to get the biggest size they have with a 54

Q: Does it cover nipples?

It’s like Schrodinger‘s Cat, it does cover your nipples, but it doesn’t; when you work out so hard and get a crazy pump and your the most moist person in the gym. I’m talking bout’ that drip. Bruhhh. It’s a great stinger but once its saturated in sweat it sags a bit and you can see a nipple or two. Usually just one at a time.

I'm 5'6" with a 44" chest and I got XL but I like a looser fit. XL was perfect.

Depends on your chest size and whether you like a form fit or a loose size. The photos are loose fit, which should be medium to large.
