I have a 2008 Corolla, 185K miles, and it has only had GTX 5W30 for oil. Engine does not burn a drop, oil change internal 3500-4000, and various filters. I also have a 2014 Explorer, 180K miles, only saw GTX 5W20, also does not burn a drop, 4000K mile oil change interval. Coincidence? No - I have used GTX for over 40 years, and have never fried an engine - small block Chevys, Fords, Toyotas, Hondas, Jeeps.. The body and frame rot out long before the engine has any internal mechanical issues.I will continue to use GTX as long as possible. GDI engines might move me over to one of the Castrol Synthetics

I began using Castrol GTX 5W30 since 1991 when I bought a new Bonneville. I run the car 325,000 miles in 21 years and never had any motor issues. I used the oil for another 109,000 miles on a 2005 Park Avenue before it was totaled in 2011. My current 2008 Buick has 104,000 miles on Castrol motor oil. This car has an oil change monitor so I go about 4,000 miles between changes.The easy pour bottle prevents the oil from spurting out.I will keep on using this oil.Update: March 2017- - - - - - - - - - - - - No complaints with the oil but the 5 quart bottle has been resigned. I wasn't aware of this as my last oil purchase in June 2016, I bought five 5 quart jugs and it carried me through the rest of the year. I have tagged on three photo's of the new bottle.The new bottle is cumbersome to carry. There is only one carry handle on it in the upper right corner. The bottle tend to pitch forward when you carry it. My hand and arm were sore walking through the store up to the cash register. The Cap has been redesigned and harder to remove prior to the lock ring breaking away. The vertical ribs spacing on the cap are a 1/2" apart and they are somewhat sharp. I ended up having to use a rubber jar lid gripper to break the cap loose. The pouring opening is now 1-9/16th diameter versus the previous bottles 1- 1/4" opening. The new bottle is 12 -1/2" tall vs 11- 15/15th on the old bottle. The new bottle will not fit on the shelf in my metal cabinet that I have been storing gallon jugs on for the past 18 year.

I only go with Castrol and it cheaper here than big retail!

Received a great price for a great oil. But sadly since that great price I have only seen that price available to Prime Members.I have been using Castrol GTX since the 1980's and have always sworn by it being it has never let me down. I have never had an blow a seal, gasket, leak or burn oil while using Castrol GTX. And that is saying a lot as I use to be very hard on my vehicles, and can still be from time to time. One time I busted a hole in my radiator by accident in a parking lot over 15 miles from home. Having no tools or anything with me to fix the problem and being it was late night on a friday I had no choice. But to drive the car home as fast as I could before I lost all the radiator fluid and in turn over heating the car. Well long story short, the car made it home but was long out of antifreeze and the temperature gauge was buried in the red. Fearful for the engine I allowed the vehicle to sit over night to cool off. And the next day she started right up and was as good as always. I have always credited that moment to the fact I had Castrol GTX in the car and in turn is what saved the engine from the excessive heat. As I have not had the same luck other brand names of oil, as I have replaced two engines while using the brand name M. one.Due to my history with and without Castrol GTX motor oil, when I made my recent purchase of a high mileage Chevrolet Blazer 4x4 as a fun, toy around vehicle to haul things with and to play in the snow. Of course I drained the old motor oil out and gave her a fresh batch of Castrol GTX. I did the same for our other car as well. I would easily recommend this product to my friends and family.The oil arrived safely and in a timely manner. I was actually surprised they could ship motor oil as I figured that would be a hazard, but I guess the post office knows better. If you have a Prime Membership, you can almost always find Castrol GTX cheaper on Amazon than at any retail location even with a coupon or on sale.We were not paid nor discounted in any way, shape or form for giving our honest opinion here of this product as a review to assist others. We believe, as a family, it is important to give an honest and accurate review to assist others so they can make good purchasing decisions that can benefit them and their family. And not be lead to cheap, unwanted purchases that are scripted by advertisers to buy their products. As we care to leave something, anything, of this planet to our grandchildren so they may enjoy it as we have.
