Failed after first dive.
Item looked normal on arrival. But when I tried to use it in water, strobe didn't start working after tightening of the cap as it should.Since that happen during pre-dive sequence, spare strobe was deployed and this item was stored away. After two consecutive dives with maximum depth 23m this strobe returned back home, where I realized I cannot unscrew the cap any more. Even using vice-grip.For some reason, I cannot return item or ask for refund. Not happy.

Not bad
Many caution.1 you must makesure they have sufficient silicone water proofing grease or q else turning is difficult. And if you can find the same silicone O RING. Buy a few spares and use 2 instead of 1 on the screw body side.2 do not use any rechargeable battery.3 when not in use remove the alkaline battery. It will leak alkaline regardless of brand E or D say No!4 when overtighten by mistake,do not panic. Slowly turn anti clockwise till it comes loose. Get a good grip by hand not by vise or big metal hobby clamp. The iusse is the vacum tight seal and the O RING. So go slow on the tigthening to lock down the front led head. If you do get stuck, Do not use vise or any clamp to force the head on an anticlockwise motion. You will damage the plastic unit and the worst is the plastic will crack.5 test the product every month to makesure it works. Check for crack. And check if it lights up. If there is an alkaline leak or salt inside cal Princeton to resolve. Plan your trip 1month or 2 inadvance.6 overall very bright due to 100lumen. But not.the brightess.7 finally when you use on PFD makesure you do not put it.in the sun. The battery will definitely die. If you use it for once a week on the pfd, I strongly suggest you get it clean with fresh water and wipe it dry and test it before storing. Makesure the battery is not inside the unit. Laziness will get the unit damage.8 I will usually buy extras of these just so incase in times of emergency use I rather have a few standing by. Should others fail. Things will break eventually due to wear and tear and negligence.9 I wish they have a bigger velcro so that it can wrap the length of the body and it will not slide.10 made in the usa. So it should last with proper care.***mar23***Re order 3more. Total had 9 of it.So the new one came in only 1 work out of the box fine but the 2 had some contact pin issues. The trouble is the pin inside the unit the long metal pin which is held by a plastic piece 1/4 the size of your pinky nail and it can remove if you are not careful when you try bending the metal leaf up higher. Remember this unit all do not have a switch it works.on the AA battery pushing the base and the top leaf makes the contact on the cylinder aluminium of the led module. So to fix it with a good contact you have to bend it up so it can make a good connection to the module when screw clockwise down. Ok do not at all leave the battery inside it can leak alkali and corrode the metal piece and module.I had mine regrease to ensure a good protection on the rubber. It has 2 1 on the body 1on the head module.so I do not know why some says it sips in water. Unless there is no grease applied.I make sure mine is applied and test run the tigthening tightness of it.so as not to lock up the module. I wrap a luminous tape around the cap of the module base for visibility reason. And in some ways help to prevent water intrusion. So far all ok on the 9units bought.Only 2 had the poor metal contact. All seems fine and good. Safe and good to buy. I will be changing to lithium batteries and test run them.. On energizer it seems brighter than duracell.14May24After so many a months 1 of the metal that holds the battery to the top led broke off due to many twist and turn. May Have to find a solution to make a metal strip and good enough to withstand the constant turning and twisting.Technically Princeton could have learnt from UST the metal is more robust. And hence it will not breakoff. Now I have 2 option. 1 to request frim Princeton direct the spare parts or 2 buy another one.Cause If I want to remove the other 2 more units I can keep them as spare parts.I know there are better options. Well lets see.Ust has one but at 48lumens 2AA.Weems and Plath has 200lunens 2AAStreamlight Poly Tac 170lumens 18650So again pricewise and economical in battery and reliability.

Great signal light.
I bought this light to find my entrance for scuba diving. Plenty bright. I am sure would also work as an emergency beacon for water sports.
