AquaTeak Patented 18" Sumba Teak Shower Bench with Shelf

This is very nice. Very smooth, hidden screws, adjustable feet, and so far is wearing well in the shower. I had a problem with one deformed bolt while assembling, and no extras. I called the support line and they shipped a new bolt immediately. I have mine in the shower, but its pretty enough for other uses. The seat has curve, so it is a seat, not a table. I would purchase again.

This is a sturdy well built shower stool. I was able to easily put it together in minutes, and it is quite solid. As with most types of these self-assembly products, I tossed the included allen wrench and just used a hex key on my cordless driver. It significantly sped up the assembly process! The leveling feet are a nice touch, I just hope they do not start to rust, I will keep an eye out for that so our tiles do not stain in the shower.

I had a sinus infection awhile back and I remember standing in the shower feeling very weak. I though it would be nice to have something in the shower to sit on and just soak and breath in the steam. In a fever induced stupor I went to amazon and ordered this, and I am glad that I did! I will admit I am a bit of a furniture snob when it comes to quality and design and this passed the test. As described, this is indeed solid teak wood and I was excited to see they used mortise and tenon joints in the construction. The surface is buttery smooth with a great finish right out of the box. The design itself is quite minimal but I enjoy the attention to ergonomics with a slight curve to the seat. I was a little worried it might feel cramped in my en suite shower/bathtub combo but it worked out nicely for this tight space. Also I will add that it blends in nicely with the other furniture I have around my house, and it doesn't scream "bathroom furniture", so I think it would be easily repurposed if I needed a stool elsewhere in my home.Assembly: The stool was quite easy to assemble however I would suggest you make sure not to tighten the screws all the way until you have them all in. Basically assemble the stool so the screws are 70 percent screwed in, and then when you have all 8 in, go back and tighten them all. Originally I tightened the legs to the bottom shelf part all the way and then went to attach the seat and it was very tight and misaligned. I went back and loosened the bottom shelf attachments and then the seat screws went on so much easier.

I don't normally write reviews. But the maker took such care in the design and construction of this bench, I just had to reward them with a good review.I invested some time shopping and looking at reviews. I ended up with this one, though I was concerned about some older negative reviews about construction quality. I am guessing they are out of date.I was just so impressed with the thoughtfulness that went into the design, construction and even packaging. There are some non-functional aspects of the packaging that don't add to anything other than the presentation when opening the box. But it is an indication that someone cares and is proud of their product.Mortise joints are better than dowels, but are not easy to do well. They chose to use mortise joints and they were done with perfect precision.They supply an innovative hex key for the construction that allows you to use it at a slight angle. It's so good I am saving it for future use on self-assembly furniture projects. This was something they didn't have to do. It cost them extra. And is evidence of their care.The bench is nice and solid. It was easy to assemble... and it was so because they clearly put a lot of thought into making it easy to assemble.For example, it has self-levelers built into the legs. But you might not easily notice that the rubber pads can be used that way. They included a small label under one of the rubber pads that you can't not read to inform you of that.You sort of have to remove that rubber pad in order to remove the label. And in the process you learn how to self-level the bench. Just so very thoughtful.The other teak benches may be good. I can't believe any of them are better.

This is a quality product. It arrives flat and needs eight bolts to assemble (included). It is easy to put together using the enclosed Allen wrench. The wood is finished.

This teak shower seat is as advertised. High quality materials and construction. Easy to assemble. Sturdy. “Made in the USA” is another good reason to buy. I favor supporting American small business, especially when a product is as well made as this.
