There's no better feeling than running across a situation that requires a ...
So my neighbor comes by the other day and says, "Hello Scott, can you help me replace the alternator on my van?". I told him he had me at "Hello". I soon realized that on his Dodge mini-van none of my ratchets--or any sort of cobbled together tool contraptions--was going to fit in the small space needed to loosen his serpentine belt. I told him to run to the parts store and pick up a tool and this is what he came back with (a rental). It did the job perfectly and I was so impressed with it, I bought the same one a few days later--you can never have enough tools, right? There's no better feeling than running across a situation that requires a speciality tool and knowing you have it in your tool box. It's a very well made tool kit from our friends in Taiwan. The case is very sturdy, closes securely, and holds all the pieces in place nicely with a thin foam insert that lays on top of the sockets. I try to keep tools in their original cases if possible, and it's almost required with this kit since you wouldn't want some of the special, very short sockets getting mixed up with your other tools.I'm not a professional mechanic, so I don't know all the various ways a car maker may need you to loosen their serpentine belt, but all the ways I've seen (mostly domestic and Japanese) are easily handled by this kit. I did read the one review where a Saab owner had some problems, so your results may vary. But, for my situation, this tool performed flawlessly, is manufactured well, and packaged nicely so it gets 5 stars.

Good tool questionable packaging
I got this at the recommendation of ChrisFix who I trust. I needed it a certain day and it arrived late because all the pieces came out of the case and it had to be repackaged. It’s a good tool but Amazon screwed this up. I returned it because after paying for next day delivery I had to return it AND pay $7 for a box to return it because amazon had to split the order because all the parts fell out. A rare failure on amazons part. This cost me $17, time and gas.

Warning Unsafe Weak Junk
One week old purchased from Amazon. Broke on first day of use. Removed belt on 2005 Toyota Rav4l, but broke and couldn’t reinstall belt. Metal at 3/8 drive end broke and whole drive stud came out. Metal and welding junk. JP Weld would have done a better job on the drive stud (sarcasm). Nearly busted my nose when it broke. This is poor material, craftsmanship, dangerous, unsafe, etc… This is one of those products copied from a known good original, and made as cheaply as possible and sold at lower price to beat out the original idea. Like anything else communist Chinese product, copy other good ideas and sell cheaper, but inferior quality. One-time use only. Don’t waste your money, safety, sanity, and time. Heed my advise for your sake. Photos show break and hole was drilled by myself to create another 3/8 drive attachment in an attempt to save the project and get the car operational at least. Filing a square tired my arm out. One belt screws it all up. Aloha to all.
