Noyan Preserve Cornelian Cherry 1 Lb. 100% Organic (Kosher) Armenia

Absolutely delicious.

I love cornelian cherry. I had bought the jam before, so this time I decided to try the preserves. Unfortunately, I can't taste it. It consists of a very liquid base, with what at first glance appeared to be rocks. A closer look revealed what I presume are unpitted whole berries. During the processing the skin and flesh of the berries shriveled up, clinging to the pit, but a good number of the hard inedible things are just pits, very hard pits. I have no idea how such a product is allowed to be sold. The unique flavor is absent, and putting the contents of the jar through a sieve just leaves a sticky, very runny substance. I don't want to bother returning it. I can use the liquid as a syrup on pancakes, I guess.How this product received 4 stars is beyond me and I shudder to think what would happen if a small child found this in a fridge and decided to taste it. I view it as a chocking hazard.Amazon used to carry a line of old-fashioned European jams made by food land, based in Serbia, with the name "Granny's Secret". Their products are excellent and I hope Amazon can stock them again.

So happy that at the end of all found cherries with bones like it was in my grandmother days as now-days everything has no bones they even take away the seeds from berries but the God created everything correctly and you do not over eat for example when you eat this jam and enjoying longer with correct taste . First of all, Cornelian Cherries are not in the same family of plants as cherries as we know them in the USA. So the complaints about the fruit not being what was expected are not relevant if you know what to expect. The cherries are almost like olives in their shape, dried-ness and pits but they are sweet and delicious. You just have to be willing to spit out the pits. And they are preserves, not jam. So they are not really to spread on toast and they are not for small children. With all that said, they are really wonderful to experience and enjoy - something different to learn about. And did I say delicious?

They came packed in VERY sweet syrup, not thickened. They seem to be previously dried and then processed with the seeds in them. They are hard little things that don't separate from the seed well at all. I can't figure out how to use them. Won't be on my peanut butter sandwich. I feel violated. :(

Put it in your hot tea and the pits will be easier to remove. Its rich in Vitamin C. Love this brand and all their other delicious preserves.

This review is for the Cornelian Cherry variety. First of all, it's not really "preserve" in texture, more like a compote. Thick syrup with the whole cherries in it. The cherries are about the size of a berry or tiny pea. But NOTE: As stated, there ARE PITS in the cherries......all of them! You are going to need to spit them out. That said, the taste is delicious. The fruit of the cherries is delicious. It makes a great topping for vanilla, dark chocolate or cherry ice cream. I wouldn't eat it on toast due to the pits. NOT recommended for young children due to choking hazard.
