The explanation about Life after life is well explained.
The book is very well written, using simple english and so beautifully edited that once you start reading, you will leave it only after you finish it.Those who question the source of “Consciousness “ will get the appropriate answers to their doubts.

Amazing, Hope-filled, well-written message.
What an amazing, fantastic, hope-filled experience/message. I bought this book after catching Dr. Eben Alexander's talk on Youtube at the Theospohical Society of America. Though his talk covered most of what is in this book, I would still recommend reading the book. It has been structured very well and makes for a very absorbing read. Couldn't get enough of it and was somehow thinking that he had experienced much more than what he let on, in his talk. One fascinating fact is how he characterised God as Om even though he has no prior knowledge of eastern spiritual thought.

May be very interesting for doctors to read as lots of medical terminologies are use to explain experience of Neurologist.
NDE experience of Neurologist is small part of book but background of it is his family, resolutions of his mental issues due to this experience with lots of diagnostic analysis covers major part of book. As author seems to have good hand in writing articles in medical journals , book written by him reflects it. Appreciate his efforts but for common reader it doesn't make very exciting book as subject is very interesting.

Excellently written. Very affordable. Great eye opener. Thanks Dr. Alexander
I liked that it was a first hand account of someone who experienced an NDE. Esp as he was a neuro surgeon so he could know whether it was an experience made up by the brain or not. A true pot boiler and very well written with great conviction. Only issue was the book was warped, I think it got wet in the rain or in the Amazon storage area. If it doesn't straighten out, I will get it replaced. I like a new book to look like new, not all warped.

Fantastic read
The book has credibility by virtue of the scientific credentials of the author, and his original scepticism of NDEs and previous rationalist views. However, the danger lies in the possibility of a Damascene conversion having followed and overwhelmed his critical faculties. As much as I would like to believe that what happened to him is true, there is a seed of doubt that creeps in when he keeps hammering the point about his neocortex not functioning during the time he was in coma, and therefore the source of his experiences that could only have come from a consciousness outside of brain activity. I was not entirely convinced by this argument or the abrupt way in which it was dealt with.Other than such minor niggles, well worth a read and very thought-provoking.

A really worth reading book.
As far as Near Death Experience (NDE) is concerned this book is 'must read'. I found it very readable. I have found many experiences being quoted in Mahikari literature. But this one gives a more 'scientific' description. We will have to agree with Frijof Kapra (The Tao of Physics)and Amuray de Reincor (The Eye of Shiva) (The spelling of the names of authors may not be correct) that 'Science' is not final, it is evolving and one will have to search for the final answers always. This book also points towards that.We would be happy to learn or relearn from Dr.Eben that God is unfathomable LOVE. Naturally the meaninglessness of all the fighting going on in the world in the name of God, or in the name of different Gods dawns on the reader. Dr.Eben agrees with almost all the mystics like Ekhart, Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, Sri Auraobindo, Arthur Koestler, etc, that certain experiences cannot be explained using our language. This book makes us Hopeful.-Prof. (Dr.) K.C.Sreekumar
