Durable, Dependable, Versatile
What's to not like? This Grinder had me feeling like I cheaped out when I bought it. BUT... it is a work horse! I have had more expensive grinders that have since been put away sold or otherwise no longer in use. Best value I have found. Making custom knives to wood working.I have used and abused this guy, & it still keeps giving me reliable & predictable results. Noise level is good I work a lot at night, close to neighbors. ZERO complaints. Doesn't bog down when you apply pressure. I build everything from Knives to custom car parts with this little guy. Small footprint in the shop and obviously built well I took it to the shop while our ridiculously expensive belt grinder/sander was being repaired (over 5 weeks). Several techs used it daily & loved it. I Used it this morning making some trim for a corvette. I Highlt recommend this product. It has the power and it's the right size.

Cool little machine after some editing
After a year of using whetstones for all of my bladesmithing needs, I finally decided to buy an electric belt grinder. I didn't want to fork over an arm and a leg, but I was willing to give out a few bones for a test run of a belt grinder. I gotta say, I'm pretty happy with my purchase. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of some of the cutting and fixing I had to do on it. Once you fix the little problems, though. It's a great little grinder. First, I had to cut all of the metal away from the drive wheel so that it could freely spin without rubbing against the back plate. (It was rubbing so bad that it was stalling the motor) secondly, I had to cut off a portion of the table so that I could make it easy to change belts. After just a week, my tensioner started slipping, so i also had to remove the face of it and re-tension the tension spring, which was probably the most difficult part to figure out on my own. But once all that was done, the tensioner stays tight, and this little bad boy fits belts from 36-1k grit and beyond. It's a great little addition to the shop after the initial frustration, and if you're willing to give it the love it needs, it will love you back for years to come.

Very Impressive - Makes Mower Blade Sharpening A Breeze
I bought this a while ago to sharpen the 3 blades on my riding mower. I delayed using it because I was not looking forward to setting it up, but it was actually quite easy.Once set up, it probably took me 30 minutes or so to sharpen all three blades which is a significant time saving for me. Not only did this cut down the time it took to sharpen, it was WAY easier since I was able to angle the platform to match the blade angle. I also usually have a hard time straightening the ends of the blades where it tends to round off, but that was also a breeze with this.I bought a spare pack of sanding belts, expecting that the one it came with would wear out quickly, but it still seems barely used which I also find impressive. I haven't tried the round disk on the side yet, but I have no reason to believe it won't hold up just as well. This does have holes on the side to mount to a bench, but I decided not to secure it just yet since it had rubber feet already attached. While not the heaviest machine around, it certainly has a decent amount of "heaft", enough so that it didn't move around while I was using it.I can't recommend this highly enough for the price!

Best bang for buck!
This is perfect for my needs. I am starting to make knives and needed a quality sander. I've had the harbor freight versions before but after looking at reviews I decided to go with this one. I picked up some red label sanding belts and they fit and went on easy once I removed the side casing. Honestly with the amount of belt changes I just leave the casing off. It came out of the box and was ready to go. Minimul set up and works very well.

Took ok, Customer Service ?
The tool is basically ok, but I am not sure about the customer service. For starters, this sander came with a card asking to validate the 3 year warranty on their website, and in return they would send one of their vice grip pliers, and so I did. Well, here it is over 2 months later and no pliers!

More than adequate horsepower for blade making.
It is a huge step up from a 1x30..I thought the 1/3 hp would be under powered and it’s not at all , it’s bigger than the 1/3 hp 1x30 motor and stronger even somehow .. it’s f you’re gonna use thicker ceramic belts like a 36 grit you’re gonna have to modify it a bit ..I’ve seen people cut the bottom of the housing or grind it with an angle grinder but I just put the 36 grit ceramic belt on it and worked it back and forth in the upright position for about 15 miNutes and it sanded off enough material for it to fit perfectly without altering the the structural integrity like I’ve seen others do ..all that modification to the housing isn’t necessary..I bought a 6 pack of ceramic belts from red label abrasives off of amazon and figured I’d sacrifice one belt to work it by hand to grind down the housing and it barely changed the belt..but this machine way before you spend $450 on the jet 2x42 trust me you won’t be disappointed at all. Been making knives for awhile and this step up from the 1x30 puts you in the knife making game big time.
