Genuine Toyota 4Runner TRD Skid Plate PTR60-89190. 2014-2019 4Runner

This skid plate will fit a 4Runner with KDSS suspension. Just completed the install relatively easy but you will need to remove the stock radiator support brackets and modify the skid plate to fit around KDSS suspension. Finished product looks amazing and is much tougher and nicer than stock. Take your time use a sawzall for initial cut out once you have marked the location and then use a hand grinder to clean up the cuts. Also best to have two people help with cut out modifications as the plate is large. It may take a few test fits and additional cuts to get the cut out right. Take your truck for a test drive after initial modification before final clean up of cuts cause you may need to make slight changes. I have included some pictures of both the passenger and driver side cuts I had to make along with a picture of the radiator brackets which need to be removed before install and marking the plate for initial cuts. Remember the instructions are for 4Runners WITHOUT KDSS so they tell you NOT to remove the brackets so ignore that line in the instructions and remove them anyways.Hardware notes:You will need an M10x1.25 die and tap.If you don't have one of each you'll need to buy them (approx $15 for both)This is to chase the existing mounting holes and new front bolts and stock rear ones.Use the STOCK rear mounting bolts not the one that came with the plate they are too long and account for the radiator bracket which had to be removed.The stock bolts work fine for the rear just make sure to chase them with the M10x1.25 die first.Test fit each bolt in the holes without the plate before you attempt install with the plate.A friend or jack support helps with final install too.Stand back after install and enjoy the new look!!Remember very important:Radio off and listen closely to any unusual noises for first week or two especially during tight turns and going over bumps.Rubbing marks may appear on surface of skid plate as an indicator. Hence the reason the initial test drive is extremely important.You need to put the suspension under various load conditions both fully right turn and full left turn during this initial test drive.Keep a 12mm socket set in the vehicle for awhile in case you need to remove the plate on the side of the road.

Been looking at adding the TRD skid plate on my 2019 4Runner Off Road Premium for a while now. Glad I did. Outstanding protection but have to admit I added it mostly for looks. Quality made skid plate. It is heavy but really only adds an additional 5lbs over the original two piece sheetmetal plate weldment and plastic deflector combo. I weighted each and calculated the difference. I like that it is now one piece rather than two with just four bolts holding it in place. Excellent solid protection from highway debris that may pop up unexpectedly. It looks great. Supplier delivery was quick and arrived with no damage. I looks awesome and I am delighted.

Although made of aluminum, it is large. This makes it a two-person job to install. Standard on the Toyota TRD pro 4Runner, but you can put it on other models. I installed it on a TRD Off-road 4Runner.
