It cleans contacts
As an auto tech in the salt belt, this stuff is amazing for cleaning connectors that are full of corrosion. Doesn't take much at all. Super simple to use, just spray the affected area and within 10 seconds the corrosion will be gone

amazing stuff
This is SO much better than plain old "tuner cleaner"!!! I am restoring a 1978 Ibanez MC500 Musician guitar that had been sitting for a long time unused. This guitar has active electronics - 5 potentiometers, jack, and 4 switches. The pots were so dirty that I thought I was going to have to replace them - they basically were functioning as switches, either off or wide open, no gradual taper. Ordered this stuff, used it, saved the original pots! I couldn't believe it, and this was after having tried the Radio Shack stuff!! This is worth the extra cost, and I ordered it along with CAIG DeoxIT SHIELD S5S-6 Spray 5 oz. to keep cleaned parts working like new. I even use it on new parts when I build a guitar, or change parts out. Both products. Some parts can be dirty from the factory, or have oil or other manufacturing environment junk in them, and who wants to put together their project only to have to disassemble it immediately and clean the parts? I can't recommend this stuff enough.

Magical
Totally magical stuff. I had an engine rebuild on a 13-year-old car. After it was all put together it developed intermittent, major issues like violent misfiring, throwing lots of OBD-II codes, stalling, and so on. Lots of diagnosis time (and $$) later, it was all traced down to corroded engine electrical connectors that, once disturbed due to removing/replacing the engine, no longer made reliable contact. The mechanic sprayed a different (popular) brand of contact cleaner, which helped but not 100%. A couple of short sprays of this stuff completely fixed it. Not a single problem since. That on top of completely removing all traces of scratchy and intermittent contact on a 25-year old stereo preamp and I am ready to call DeoxIT DN5 absolutely magical. The mechanic was so impressed he wanted a link to the product to get some himself.

I won't use anything else.
I've used this for connections, and various contacts for almost 40 years. It last a long time. The price as everything is much more than 40 years ago, but it work incredible. I never use anything else.

Great product but delivery system sucks!
What do you give a 5 star product with a 1 star delivery system???? I have purchased 5 of these with two currently unopened. The first one gave up the ghost while only dispensing 2/3 of the product. The next one leaked so badly under the cap that it wasted a significant amount of product. The one currently being used us starting to slow down at the 1/2 empty mark. Come on Caig!!!! Your wonderful product deserves a better spray can as it is also far too expensive to waste!!! FOLLOWUP: The Caig customer service is very good at least. They are replacing the 2 defective cans. They still have an issue that I hope they can resolve.

DeoxIT Products Are All Great
I have been using all of the DeoxIT products on audio, video, musical, and anything else electronic for years. It works great and has saved equipment from being sent in for repair or being trashed. Cleans up noisy pots and switches with ease. I had one high end receiver that sounded like the left channel had went south. Flushed all pots and switches and it still sounds great and that was done around five years ago. Great for scratchy controls on electric guitars too. Good when setting up new equipment to avoid trouble down the road. Like Neil Young says, "Rust Never Sleeps".

So Useful!
This stuff is awesome. Expensive, but awesome. I cleaned out the DC input jack on my $300 (when new) H4N audio recorder, and it fixed a longstanding problem I've had with the power cutting off whenever I move the cord. Right there it was well worth the money I payed for the DeoxIT. Note that this is the DN5 version, which is the most appropriate one for more sensitive electronics. Be really careful not to use too much, and to let it drain out, and, well, just be really careful on your sensitive toys.

Really surprising stuff. Great contact cleaner. For hdmi cables, usb cables. Any cables that have metal ends. It don't need alot. A must have for technicians. Enjoy
