Super phone, outstanding camera
My previous phone was an iPhone 6S . It was nice enough as it goes, but as I am planning a 4 week trip abroad I wanted something with a better camera. After ploughing through reviews and comments I decided to leave the Apply system and buy this Android phone. There are a few niggles (the prompting from Huawei to let them into your email) for one example, but for the most part the tailored Android system seems to work fine with all my apps. The phone itself is excellent. The signal pickup (EE) is very strong in this area. It is a known bad area for mobile signals, so credit to this phone for getting 3 bars when my other phone (on O2) gets nothing at all!The audio quality is first class, both received and sent. The screen is easy to use, but the rounded glass body takes a bit of getting used to if you’ve used a ‘flat’ phone previously. All my apps run well, and quickly, and I can even do some photo editing in LightRoom on it, suck is the power of the processor. The quality of the screen is stunning. Everything is sharp and bright. The camera is something else - in a good way.The quality of images from the camera are outstanding. It even has a RAW facility (something only found previously on high end DSLR cameras) and this enables you to access the original (large) and unprocessed camera file and apply your own sharpening, correct exposure errors, etc.I suspect very few users of this phone will actually use this but, as a photographer by profession, I am using it all the time.I have never paid this kind of money for a phone before, but I can see why it costs what it does.A fantastic piece of equipment.

The Best Phone I've Owned, But....
The Mate 20 Pro is by far the best phone I've owned. It's fast with no lag or stutters. Feature packed UI which isn't as bad as what I was expecting. It all seems to work well together. The camera is exceptionally good. I couldn't find any weak points at all with this.Audio quality through the speakers is quite average but then it's a different story through the earphones. Using Player Pro and with a Dolby Atmos switched off, I found the sound exceptionally good, in fact the best by far of any previous phones I've had.Face Unlock is super fast and secure. The embedded fingerprint scanner is excellent. No more having to mess about with rear fingerprint readers. An excellent phone. It's the first phone to excite me in years, but....GREEN SCREEN ISSUE.A lot of the early production units that were fitted with an LG screen have suffered from a green coloured light bleed around the edges. This unit was affected by it and had to be returned for a refund. Using other retailers before I used Amazon, in total I've sent back 5 phones affected by this problem. All retailers including Amazon were great at exchanging or refunding. My complaint here is with Huawei.Huawei have yet to issue a formal statement about what has been known about for weeks. Instead they seem to be using their customers to seek out all the affected units for them instead of issuing a product recall. Not good at all, and shame on Huawei for how they have handled this problem. If you're prepared for a possible disappointment, if you get a bad screen, and the hassle of having to return for refund or replacement, then stick with it because the phone is worth the effort.I finally got a good phone with a great screen and 6 days there's no issues at all.

Fantastic flagship phone
It's been almost two weeks now since I've been using the Huawei Mate 20 Pro. I received this product as part of a review program in return for an unbiased review, and so I've been putting it through it's paces. I would consider myself a heavy phone user, normally by around 7pm, I'm reaching for the charger with my old phone. Not so with the Mate 20 Pro. The battery is immense! I can easily double the screen time from my old phone using this one! So that's a good point. Another good point, the camera. At first I wasn't amazed, then I released you must change resolution in settings. Default is 10 meg pixels, switching to 40mp gives amazing results. BTW, switching to 40mp disables the zoom and wide lens options, so remember to switch back to 10mp to get the use of those lenses back. About those other lenses, I've found the wide angle extremely useful, fitting in to the frame a lot more when there is no option to walk further back from what you want to capture. Beware though, there can be barrel distortion if you get too close to your subject using this wide lens. The telephoto I'm not so sure about. Granted it does get the long shots, but the quality to my eyes could be improved. It's a small niggle, but overall, considering, all the cameras as a package, I really can't grumble. The 3D live maker app is immense fun and should be your 1st app to download when you get your Mate 20 Pro. It shows off the forward facing 3d scanner to it's best. Bringing small toys to life is so much fun, even for a nigh on 50 year old kid like me. That same front scanner is also used for facial unlock. This works in total darkness, and I find it can unlock faster than the in screen finger print sensor. I've found the finger print sensor to be accurate I'd say 80% of the time. I am using a film type screen protector, so going without may improve on that, but personally I prefer the odd miss read knowing I have the security of the screen protection. BTW, don't bother with tempered glass screen protectors if you ever want to use the fingerprint sensor. The few I tried were abysmal, so that is one downside of having that sensor embedded in the screen. The only other problem I've come up against is using Google Assistant. You say "OK Google", to wake phone, however, I've found then that although the dots on the bottom are waiting for your next dictation, the mike is turned off. Maybe it's a Huawei problem, maybe Google? (Edit. I fixed this problem by uninstalling google assistant, and re-installing it) All in all I've immensely enjoyed using the Mate 20 PRO, 5 STARS

Good phone
Really happy with the phone, love the sleek look a bit big in size than I expected. So much easier to use than my iPhone, I recommend this product to anyone who wants a easy to use phone at a good price.
