Verweij 100% Roomboter Siroopwafels (Butter Stroopwafels), 10.6 oz Packages in a BlackTie Box (Pack of 4)

I lived in Holland for a very long time, then the Dutch-speaking section of Belgium. One of my favorite sweets quickly became the lovely Stroopwafels, which just means ""Syrup Waffle" in English. However, when fresh,, the taste is a superb blend of caramel, with a crunchy texture, and the most lovely, and stretchy strands of caramel for the filling. I used to go to the daily market in the middle of town, and watch the. Dutchmen,, set-up in little stalls outside, makeing the lovely fresh wafers. I would buy one wonderful, fresh waffle, to eat as I walked through the market, searching for my fresh vegetables, fish, etc.These waffles are not quite as good as those of the market stalls, but they are about as close to syrup waffle heaven as it is possible to get when not actually in Holland or Belgium. My order was well-packed, and I could smell a bit of the lovely fragrance as I opened the packing material, and I I immediately felt myself back in one of those market stalls, waiting my turn for a fresh syrup-waffle, waiting to buy my fresh ingredients for my meal that evening.That is my, ultimate compliment for a Stroopwafel. These are composed of quality ingredients, real butter, ( Not always the case.), and somehow the waffle sections are fresh-tasting, with a bit of a crunch, and the lovely and tasty filling. I have eaten the real thing, minutes old, at the market stands in Holland and Belgium. If I like these, they are pretty close to the flavor experience of eating them fresh in Europe..These are of lovely quality, supremely tasty, and I recommend them. They bring the markets of Belgium and Holland back to my home in America.

Just as yummy as the fresh ones I ate in Holland.

I am Very happy to have found Black Tie Mercantile selling these absolutely delectable treats. I have been married to a second generation Dutch man for 30 years and these are such a delight for him. He usually has one with his nightly coffee. By the way, one cookie fits perfectly on top of fresh cup of coffee. Leave it over the top of the cup for a couple of minutes and the thin syrup layer melts a little, Yummy! I only buy from this seller...Always packaged so perfect and always fresh. I give these to teachers, friends, business associates, my family and just about anyone anyone when I want to say Thank You! Our house always has at least 2 packs at all times.

My Dutch friend got a version for me as a grad gift. I loved them and went online to buy some more for myself. It looked good so I ordered these. It came on time, everything was in the package. Some of the filling was running over and a few had some extra syurp bubbles on the sides. They were a bit softer than I thought but I still liked them.

Was given a pack of these as a gift and got hooked right away! Decided to check Amazon and sure enough here they are so needless to say I ordered a box of these! They're best (in my opinion) with a hot beverage. I enjoy mine with coffee and for the first time ever, I've become a dunker! The hot coffee warms up that creamy center just a bit. Scrumptious

Excellent quality Stroopwafels for an import. I consume these each time I am in the Netherlands. These were closer to the stroopwafels I get when in Holland than the Daelman's, as far as size, quantity and being made from real butter. Of course there are a several brands there. These two are delicious and recommend either. The Verweij cost a little more due to more oz. (larger diameter and count per package). Also, I found the Verweij a bit more crumbly than the Daelman's. No reason to not buy them of course :). The diameter is just right to sit on top of most coffee cups (to soften up the wafel). I have ordered from Black Tie Mercantile a dozen times and always get great service and fast deliveries!

I tried these from a local European Market a short while ago and thought how nice it would be to have some for the holidays. I opened one package and they are old and hard - not even close to what I had prior to this when I purchased them locally. I will most likely throw them out as I have opened the box but it was a complete waste of money. Hopefully not all recipients have my experience.

These are fantastic. You can tell they are a heavy snack just by picking them up, one 10 pack has a good weight! These taste best when you warm them up and are the perfect size to cover a coffee mug. What I suggest is pre-heating your coffee mug with very hot water and putting these on top for that part, then when you pour in the coffee flip them over and top it with one of these. We've found the extra warming from the steam really gets these gooey on the inside and delicious! For my taste I've found they are best enjoyed this way rather than dipped directly in the coffee. Also covering the coffee with the Siroopwafel helps keep the coffee warmer a little longer, so it's win win.
