Have lots of basic info. But makes one too dependent on patterns

Well... The book is all fine and is in best condition.But i happened to buy the book in more than the amount written on it and so i feel that m despoiled

Good book to learn stitching

The book and pages were all new but the cover was all damaged and Scratched

It gives me a foundation, something to fall back on when i am stuck.

This is such a nice book but then i should not be surprised as DK have always had a great reputation.Really informative for a beginner or even if you want to learn more. Pages are clear and cover so much.Good quality too.

At least for a rookie like me this is a fantastic book, it covers everything, and it is all described in both text and clear color photos, they explain all kinds of sewing subjects and after each one you get an example of how to use it in the real world. They explain different kinds of fabrics, how to interpret a sewing pattern, how to use different seams, how to use interfacing and on it goes, you can find pretty much anything in this book, again a fantastic book.

Il libro rispecchia gli argomenti trattati nel famoso Reader's Digest Complete Guide to Sewing, ad eccezione di pochissimi temi particolari del tipo come rivestire un divano (ho l'edizione del 1978 e li ho comparati pagina per pagina); questo per dire che è completissimo e molto ricco anche nella selezione delle tecniche. In più, anche rispetto al suo antenato nobile, ha delle foto enormi ad alta risoluzione che sono il sogno di qualsiasi autodidatta. E' sempre aperto sul mio tavolo da lavoro. Meraviglioso

Covers everything you could possibly have a question about with sewing with very clear illustrations. I take several of Alison’s classes on Craftsy.com but when I have a quick question about a technique it is wonderful to grab her book and reference it when I don’t have time to search a video. I can’t think of anything I don’t like about the book except that it’s very heavy but that’s to be expected. It’s packed so full of information!

As a beginner, I have been overwhelmed with the information that can be found online and wanted to find a comprehensive guide about sewing. Before buying it, I have been pretty much self-taught and have tried to work on some easier patterns (which would not go as expected).After buying this book, I haven't started a new project without looking into how elements of the pattern should be done. In my opinion, this book is a great beginner book that shows step-by-step how to achieve certain techniques.I am very happy that I bought it, and would without a doubt recommend it to other beginners.If you're more skilled, this might be a little to basic for you, but you can still use it as a guide on how to achieve certain things as the book is split into beautiful sections that make it easy to find what you need.
