It’s great that there is no power switch nor heat level adjustment. Here’s why: there are no switch or dial components that a dog might chew on and break, nor can it accidentally be switched to a high heat or turned on or off by the pet.The pad never gets too hot. It’s nice and warm. The pad is relatively flexible and the cover is soft and washable.It shouldn’t be, and doesn’t need to be, covered with blankets. If the room is really cold in the morning, sometimes I’ll cover the dog loosely with a light blanket to form sort of a tent. It holds a little extra heat around the rest of her body.If I’ll be gone from home for awhile, I plug it into a smart plug. I could theoretically shut it off remotely from my phone if needed. I can’t recall actually ever doing that, but just in case the option is there:My dog just got new roommates and everyone understandably wants a spot on the pad, so I just ordered the larger size.Our dog has absolutely loved the smaller pad from the first day she got it almost 2 years ago. It still works like new and the only thing that looks a little used is the pad cover. It’s held up well but it’s been washed dozens of times at this point so it’s faded a touch. No holes or worn threads though.I’m super happy with this pad and more importantly so is the dog. She loves it so much and so do her new roommates that I wish it was standard equipment for pet owners to have them.

Miss Twyla loved to sleep behind my knees. I'm a side-sleeper, and every night she would curl up for warmth in the triangle right behind my bent knees in bed. It was cute and endearing, and I honestly loved having her cuddle with me like that -- until I needed to roll over in the middle of the night.Rolling over should be something that just happens when you're sleeping. You just do it. You don't wake up. But with a 12 pound kitty behind your knees, it becomes a challenge. I'd have to wake completely up, pull my knees up to my chest, roll over, then slide my legs back down on the other side of the cat, and then wait to go back to sleep again. Three or four times a night. For several years, I almost never woke up refreshed in the morning thanks to the lack of uninterrupted sleep.This heating pad changed that!When I received the pad, I placed it on the bed next to me, level with my shoulders. I turned it on, let it warm up, the enticed Miss Kitty to stand on it. Oh my! Her expression seemed to say when she felt the warmth under her paws. Me like! Kneading, then laying down, then happy, happy purring!Since I purchased this pad, Twyla has only slept behind my knees once, and after a gentle nudge she quickly returned to her new warm spot on the pad. I sleep without cat-related interruptions now, and am feeling much better rested in the mornings. I wish I had thought of this years ago! It has definitely improved the quality of my sleep and Twyla is very happy to have a new, warmer place to sleep on at night.The chew-proof cord and the washable pad cover a nice features. And while I give this 5-stars overall, it would be nice if there were a timer so I could tell it when to heat and when to stay off. Other than that, it is a great product.

This is a great product. I have 2 of the large sized ones that my 3 pets share- 13 pound dog, 10 pound cat and 16 pound cat. I originally got it for my dog's bed since her old electric blanket stopped working. She loved it, but she kept finding her bed occupied by kitties. So I got a second one. They all take turns sharing the beds and love them.At first they were apprehensive about using them. I'm guessing this was due to the factory smell and because they are slightly stiff. All it took was one or two times of placing them on the mat for them to realize the heat. That's all it took for them to fall in love.My pets aren't chewers, but I like the durable cord cover as added protection, just in case of chewing. If they were chewers, I would probably want to supervise their use until I was comfortable with the risk. The cover is removable so it can be washed as needed.The temperature level is as promised, just warm enough to keep the pets feeling cozy on a cold day, but not so warm that they become overheated. My dog used to pant once in awhile with her old electric blanket, which would prompt me to turn down the heat. I've had this product for a few months now and haven't seen her pant once.Great product, I have recommended to family and friends. And I recommend it to anyone else who is looking for a high quality, safe warming pet mat. The only suggestion for improvement that I would make is for the company to find a way to make the mat more flexible and soft. But honestly, my pets love it anyway and the stiffness probably helps the mat stay flat instead of getting bunched up in a ball like a blanket. So maybe the product really is perfect as-is after all. This product is great. Took it out of the box plugged it in few minutes later Kobe the cat claimed it. But too bad for Kobe I bought this for our feral cat that I have been looking after, temperature going to drop to -18 tomorrow. It’s perfect size for small- med or fat cat fits whole body my current heating pad is small and uncomfortable. I also like it seems to give just perfect amount of heat (not too hot or not hot enough). I am happy & Hobo I am sure will approve it too.

Mi chihuahueña viejita lo ama, se lo mantengo encendido todo el día durante el invierno y noches frías. Algunas veces calienta un poco menos, pero sigue funcionando muy bien para ella.
