Functional. Solid selection of tools.
The selection of tools and instruments in this case provides an excellent value to modify and splice wire. What the case itself is fairly flimsy, the tools appear to be of high quality. Good compact professional value kit
Great value for a complete compact network installation kit. Tools feel good in the hands. Not cheap quality. Built to last. Something you can throw in a toolbox or locker. Hinged/spring action is smooth on the more complex crimping and cutting tools. Everything is put together and packaged well. No initial issues. This appears to be a well put-together, job specific kit. No initial issues. Seems like this should stand the test of time.

Reasonable value for a novice set of tools
Great value for the tools you get, especially for a starter kit such as this. However, it might be worth buying these tools separately to save on some frustrations down the road. The crimp tool will work for most applications, but you can expect to have ~25% connector crimp failures or greater using this tool. It is improperly hinged which places initial force on pins 1-4 and eventually 5-8 but it won't fully seat pin 8 95-99% of the time. A quick glance at a crimped connector and you will notice that pin 8 is raised a fraction of a mm higher than the other pins. This will still result in a cable with continuity most of the time, but it is not ideal. I would recommend spending a bit more on a quality tool. GreenLee makes a good Cat5 crimper that will put this tool to shame every time. Sure, it's about 1.5x the cost of this kit but you'll save on the cost of botched connectors eventually.Biggest frustration was with the cable tester. Worked for about 100 or so tests then lights for pins 3-6 stopped working. It took too long for me to realize that the cables weren't at issue and to realize it was the tester that was failing. Waste of time.Punch down tool works great. No complaints.Four stars on this review since this kit provides a novice and complete set of tools at a reasonable price. If you plan on using this for more than just a small project one time I would recommend spending a little bit more and buying the tools individually. There are some non-essential things in here anyway. Crimper, punch-down, tester. That all you really need in the end.

great starter kit for the average network technician
Great starter kit for the average network technician! Comes with multiple razor blades and stores them right in the unit for fast and easy replacement. The plastic window was cracked in the corner when I received it but that's not worth bumping it down one star as it will probably get cracked more where I work. Great kit for the price!

Simply, it is perfect for 99% of all networking (CAT-5, 6, ETC) even phone connection.
Everything you'll need in one convenient "briefcase" I like the idea you have if you don 't want to show the world what is in it, it comes with a felt (1/8" thick) cover you can put over the tools INSIDE the case. OR if you are ok with it, you can have it open so you know whats in it! No complaints on any aspect of it. Mahalo for a great product at great price!

Works great, saved my quite a few $$$
Why pay for a cable installer to fix a few issues, one kit does it all. Once I got the hang of it, I was trimming my cables and cleaning up the office in no time at all. Even found a few phone cables to tidy up. Love the clear window case, printed color coding for my cables and placed in the window. Only issue which has not been a real issue is plastic hinges, how log will they last. Then again, how often does one really use these tools unless it is a full time job, then you would most likely spend much more on better tools and case.

Terrible quality
I bought this simply for the punch down tool and the cable strippers, everything else was a plus. It came in a case similar to the picture, but didn't come with foam, instead it came with a plastic insert. Due to the plastic insert every time you adjust the stripper you need to adjust it down to fit the cutter into it, stupid annoying.I don't understand how there are so many positive reviews... These aren't comparable to Klein at all. The cutters are dull and hard to cut a simple CAT5e or CAT6 cable. The crimpers are complete trash, they don't push the metal contacts correctly into the wirings, and thus you are wasting a TON of time and ends. I have two other crimpers that work fantastic, so this wasn't a deal breaker. The punch down tool is super cheap and requires insane force to punch down, I wish I could find my other that I left at a job by accident, but these are worthless.Haven't tried the cable tester yet, but I doubt it will work really well, in a pinch maybe, but I am going to return these, I can buy better tools at comparable prices.
