Is this small cat harness machine washable?

What size for a Birman cat?

You'll need to measure the cat's middle section, behind the armpits. Also, measure the cat's neck closer to the base of the neck. The product page has a picture that tells you which size to order based on the measurements. The problem with this harness, and pretty much all others that are reasonably priced, is they're made for dogs and their dimensions. They also market the same dog harnesses to cat owners, but they're not made for cats. To get the waist to be the right size, the neck portion was way too small (and the neck portion isn't adjustable). I cut the neck straps and used velcro (gluing and sewing) to make it adjustable. It took a few days to figure it out and make it right. I've seen other harnesses that say they're made specifically for cats, but they run closer to $50.

My cat won't walk with the harness...she only crawls- how do i make her comfortable?

Time and practice. No cat likes something new. Put the harness on for like 30 mins at a time and let her get used to it. Then take off and do again later. Do as often as you decide. Coax her with love and treats. Make it a loving, positive experience. When she is walking then attach a leash and let her drag it. Lead her around your home. Cats are scared of everything. Going outside will be yet another very traumatic event. My little guy will walk inside but freaks out outside. Lots of patience and love. Good luck. My little guy actually likes his harness. It does not bind his legs or chest. So comfort shouldn't take to long.
