This is great keeping the neighbours from putting their rubbish in my bin

This item was very easy to fit (even came with a drill bit), set up in seconds, fitted well, strong. I am mainly trying to keep animals out, and have been using bricks, which are cumbersome and messy, so this is a clean, easy solution. Some reviewers have said that determined people could prise the lock off - well, the same applies to cars and doors! This would deter any casual dumper of rubbish and any animals. Having tried out one, I will be buying more for my other bins.

When attached as instructed, it's incredibly easy to open the lid around the metal L. In fact, the screws on the part that goes into the lower rim can be ripped out as the big L acts as a lever.A total waste of time and money.

I bought two of these to stop our neighbours filling our bins with their overflow rubbish after they forget to put their own wheelie bins out for collection. The locks are strong, secure, have nice features above the basic like rubber caps for the screws and to fit into the bottom of the locks to prevent the mechanism rusting. The two locks used different keys and I couldn't open either one with the other. They fit using two crosshead screws which have to be fitted directly onto the bin, they even include a free drill bit of the right size to do this, but I found that I didn't actually need the drill bit and could screw them straight on using a screwdriver and a bit of brute force (I'm a 5'3 woman with arthritis in my hands). I have come straight back to buy a third and would recommend them to anyone who wants to keep their bin secure. You will need to make sure that you get your own bin back after collection day as they have part of the lock screwed onto it, so you might also want to invest in some bin stickers.

Easy enough to fit. Padlock rusted sooo quickly. Suggest you buy a different rust proof padlock.

You do not NEED a drill, but it makes it easier I would imagine. (A drill bit is included for those concerned.)Bought these for each of my bins as morons in my block kept overfilling theirs AND MINE.So, bought these and plan to either leave them for the next tennant, or take them with me.Someone has tried to force the lid of one of my bins (possibly a bin man as one of said morons still took my bin out when I LEFT THE LOCK ON).Just had to tighten the screws. If needed can reattatch.The padlocks can look rusty within a few months but keep them oiled and there's nothing to worry about. Four years on the originals work just fine.Overall. Does the trick and doesnt look terrible either.They honestly look flimsier than they are.EDIT - Had them installed for four years and there's absolutely no issues with them. One of the cover caps has come off, and people can see the screw underneath, but honestly nobody bothers with them.I have also chained all three of my bins together too - anyone says anything I can blame it on concerns about the wind and local seagulls.

One of the best Bin locks we found, as it provides security for any one who has problems with neighbors using their Bins for waste. Its excellent product. The Seller is extremely helpful. Very fast delivery. Shame we had to return as it was not suitable for our bins. I highly recommend it.
