Poolguard SB swimming pool alarm

Maybe it is me not working this out properly, but I have struggled swith this so much.I really want it to work.In its design and styling, it is a great product, but I have really had problems.1 - as soon as I inserted the batteries it started making a racket.2 - I move it anywhere (even very gently) and it starts making a racket3 - even put it near the pool and it makes a racket4 - once in the pool, it started going off and the pool was stillIt was so noisy, that my neighbours called the police ( I have lovely neighbours by the way) and I was still only trying to set it up.I now have it sat on a shelf in my living room looking like an ornament - a very expensive red ornament....I am frightened to put it in the pool for fear of another police telling off.Yes, pool alarms are great, but surely they should not be this sensitive.It is a pity ince I really want this to work, and other reviews say that people are pleased with it - mine however is like a ticking time bomb that I am frightened to go near

Had in our pool 2 month now. Seems to work well at deterring any little children from playing in the pool when an adult is not around. When they do play or set the alarm off, wow its loud! It can be sensitive to wind but that’s ok we just take it out on windy days. It works a lot better that I had thought. Just remember to keep the key to shut off the alarm handy.

PLEASE, take the reviews seriously on this one! I usually read reviews, but bought this without reading them because I didn't want to drill holes in my top rail to mount the one that came with the pool. Well, apparently, when they say the alarm is a nuisance...I put mine in the pool, with and without the pump on, and the alarm went off no matter what. I didn't need to test the alarm with a gallon jug (or 2) of water and dropping them in the pool, as the manual states, because the slightest water movement set it off! When I put it together, it went off for almost 3 minutes straight because I put the cover on a 1/4 turn wrong and the key to turn it off only works in 1 position! When I took the alarm out of the pool and tried to turn it off, it would take 10-15 seconds or more! Let me tell you, THIS ALARM IS LOUDDDD and if you get it to work properly, it will work for the 200' it's rated for- my remote was at least 170' away and it worked in the house. Trust me- my daughter told me so (especially after about the 8th time it went off)! Returning for refund- too bad I'm probably out return shipping! BUYER BEWARE!!!

This is a very good product. It is loud and clear. Thank goodness we have only had demonstrations of its ability. I do however wish there was an off button. Sometimes it takes a bit longer than I would like to stop the alarm.

So purchased this because pur County insisted in one for Inspection. All said and done never asked for it and now stuck with it never opened. But I'm sure it's a awonderdul item. Just don't need as we are retired and too old to drown lol

Too sensitive and no way to adjust sensitivity. The slightest breeze causes false alarms, several times within a couple of hours. So it is really ineffective - either out of the pool to prevent false alarms or alarming when it shouldn't.
