Fit perfectly
It actually fit our doorknob unlike the safety first ones. I also really like the lock cover since my son loves to lock the door.

Good for larger doorknobs but one feature is not too great
I ordered these because my son's bedroom doorknob is really large and my son keeps getting up and wandering around early in the morning. So instead, we put one of these on so that he will call for one of us when he wakes. The installation was very easy, it fit well. My biggest concern was the opening for the lock. I snapped it shut but this last time (we have had it for maybe 2 weeks?) he locked him self in because he could access the lock. Which on the standard size ones made by other sellers, is much harder to access. So I ended up having to take his entire doorknob off because its one of those irritating locks that have the tiny hole for a specific key which we do not have in our rental. It would be great for keep kids out of a room but not for the purpose I had.

Update: I did rate this 5 stars originally because it was a good price for them, but after 4 months one is broken (it looks fine, no pieces missing, but won’t stay clasped together any more) and one the lock flap broke off of. My family is kind of rough with them (but with normal use- not anything crazy) so I didn’t expect much, however, they were $8 when I bought them and for that price I was ok with that. I just came back to order 2 or 3 more sets to replace the broken ones and add a couple to closets and now they’re “on sale” for $11.99 with a normal price of even more. It looks like they sold them for cheap and got a bunch of good reviews, because they were a good item for that price, and now that there are more reviews they’ve jacked the price up. These work, but they’re still flimsy plastic and not worth $3/each (at basically $12 for a 4-pack). I’m not going to buy them again now and wouldn’t have rated their value at 5 stars at that price point. These work very well. I was worried my 2 year old would try to mess with them so maybe ch that he’d end up just breaking them off, but they’ve held up to his attempts. They’re kind of cheap looking plastic, but they have held up a couple months so far, were easy to get on, come off ok if you need to, and do the job. They fit my door knobs with no problems and I like that I can lock/unlock the door knobs by just lifting the end piece up. He will probably figure that part out eventually, but I make an effort not to open them when he’s looking. My husband or teenage step-daughter did break the piece that covers the lock on one so it doesn’t snap closed any more, and it is cheap plastic parts, but to be fair they’re both extremely rough with them. I read through a lot of reviews when I first bought these and decided on them because I only needed a couple and they were inexpensive and not poorly reviewed. I’m happy with the purchase and considering buying more for a couple of the closet that I would like to keep him out of also now.

Good for wandering patients?
I'm not very gifted in putting things together and the door knob was a little challenging for me, primarily because it was just a little too small for the door knob I installed it on. But I bought it for a relative that is suffering with dementia and I understand that evenly he may tend to wandering. I bought the door knob to get ahead of him since he has not reached that stage yet. It was easy to open the door knob if you put your had on the open slots of the knob, but I think it would be challenging to a person suffering with dementia or Alzheimer's simply because it requires you to analyze "how" to open the door and since that has been compromised with these types of patients, I feel it is an easy first line of keeping your loved one safe. As the disease progresses more aggressive measures will need to be enacted, but it's inexpensive and I feel it will do what I needed it to do initially. It should definitely deter a small child.

Don't buy, toddler locked us out!
I don't review often. It takes a really good products or a really bad one for me to write something. We bought this product without the lock cover for doors that we just needed to prevent our two year old from opening. Once he opened a door by himself, I knew it was time to buy ones with lock covers so he couldn't lock us out in places like out bedroom, bathroom and front and back doors. I bought these because the ones we bought without the lock covers worked great. I though why not buy from the same company. I had to return these and buy others. It is SO easy to open the little lock cover and simply lock someone out, which is exactly what happened to my husband. I was out and he was watching our son and he closed our bedroom door and locked him out. He had to break into our bedroom! I immediately went searching for new ones that had a cover but not one that he could open. I don't understand how a child would not be able to open these. It is way to easy. Save your money and search elsewhere. I was able to get better ones for the same price and I got double the amount.

Works great, not as easy to take off but still worth buying!
The media could not be loaded. I have a three year old daughter that loves to lock doors so I needed door knob covers. I love this kind because it also covers the lock on the door knob. Very easy to install, takes a bit of strength and prying to get back off.. Also takes a little getting used to opening the door over the cover, not a big deal. I would still buy these again I am very happy with them. They are universal so can fit any door knob!
