The X-Files Complete Series, Seasons 1-11 [DVD] [2018]

I was in two minds about buying the Blu-Ray version of this series, as the price is now not too bad at 62 euro, i am so glad i did, the quality of both the picture and sound is better than i expected. Some reviewers say the packaging is the one thing that lets this blu-ray version down, i would agree that it is not the best, but for the price you pay for this version i can forgive this they do stack more discs on one spindle, and sometimes it can be finnicky to try to remove one disc at a time, to me it seems easier to take out in one go all the discs on that spindle, and put back what you do not need at that time. As for the series itself, to anyone who is an X-Files fan, this is a must have version, getting all 11 seasons in one compact edition, something the other Blu-Ray version does not have, and for less money as well. from the few episodes i have already watched, it is the picture quality that you notice straight away, and the 16.9 aspect ratio rather than 4.3 that the first few seasons had on their original TV broadcast.As for the series itself, it is still as watchable now as it was in the early 90s, i was hooked on this series then, and it is a pleasure to watch it again, something i will probably do every few years, for those who did not watch it first time around, i would highly recommend this series, and for those that did and who loved it, would hopefully get as much enjoyment out of it as i am doing at the moment, it was a a moment in history where a tv series really caught peoples imagination, and has become such a classic over time, it is good to have the latest 2 seasons included as well, only made in the last couple of years, as others have said, it would have been nice to include the 2 movies as well, but they can be bought separately on Blu-ray for those that want the complete collection, as of now anyway. Physical media that you can actually hold in your hand, rather than digitally stored on a hard drive might be on the way out, but the quality of a Blu-ray disc is for now at least a better viewing experience. If i had already owned the normal DVD version, i may not have bought this Bu-ray version, but i would have missed out on the massive jump in picture quality and aspect ratio this version has, so for those reasons, and its price point, i would highly recommend this for any fan of this series.

I thought about going HD on this but decided to go SD, glad I did it was like watching the first time around when it started all those years ago you don't need HD on some series just go old skool and sit back and enjoy, I have since decided to buy the Blu ray version as I found the picture quality was not that good as I thought it would be first couple of episodes weren't to bad but they seem to get worse.Will date again when I get the Blu ray version.Watched the first couple of episodes and the picture in HD is so much better than the DVD, it may be more expensive but is worth it.

This is excellent value for money, considering you are getting the Complete Series (bar the 2 so so movies) and including the newer Seasons 10 and 11 included as well.Picture and sound quality on all the discs is superb as you would expect from Blu-Ray, and the packaging is not that bad an issue - it also saves a lot of space compared to the old DVD Version which only went up to Season 9.As Gillian Anderson has said she will not be returning for another series and Chris Carter and David Duchovny have said they won't make anymore without her, this is the best version of this classic series we are ever likely to get - and at this price it's a steal.A definite five star recommended purchase!

Fantastic show; intelligent, witty, phenomenal! The box it's self looks beautiful and feels strong and sturdy, but the discs are stacked on top of each other in cheap spindles. When mine came the discs were all loose which resulted in small scratches on some of the discs. I had to catch some of the discs to stop them falling out of the cases they came in which resulted in my fingers touching the underside of the discs and leaving a few fingers markes (which really angered me because of the price of the set at 105£)Excellent series ruining by cheap, lazy inner packaging. Worth acquiring but be EXTREMELY CAREFUL with handling the set considering the price.9/10 for the show. 10/10 for the content of extras for the series. 7/10 for the packaging.

Always liked X Files when it was shown on TV.This box set is such good value for money and will keep you entertained for a long time.

FIVE STARS for the show..... Hands down! But....I am among the majority - the packaging blows on this set.I watched them in order so it wasn't too painful, and then I put them in paper sleeves so I wouldn't have to drink myself into oblivion again to dull the frustration but what else can you do with 68 DVDs?The 1 - 9 set is configured a bit better but then there are so many DVDs the weight broke some of the spindles so you can't win with that either.My main beef is with the "missing" items - this set does not include the movie; set 1-9 doesn't include the last 2 series.So, it's really:Do you want to pay for Series 10 and 11 or both movies?I have both and I prefer this set solely for picture quality.
