🌸 Bloom Where You're Planted!
The 1 Gal. Bloomerang Dark Purple Reblooming Lilac is a stunning live shrub that reaches 4-6 ft. tall and wide at maturity. It thrives in full sun and is hardy in USDA zones 3-7. This 1-year-old shrub, shipped dormant or green depending on the season, offers a spectacular display of purple flowers, making it a perfect addition to any garden or landscape.

Arrived in good condition
I purchased one each for my mother and mother-in-law for mother's day this year. They arrived remarkably quickly (I ordered them much too late), just in time and in good condition.Regarding how giftable they are, I would say it depends on the recipient. As you can see in the attached pictures it's an unremarkable, small leafy shrub when it arrives. I wouldn't expect it to arrive covered in blooms or anything like that. If you are gifting to a plant lover that likely wouldn't matter. At about $30 each (shipping+price) it's the same price I usually pay for a cut bouquet to be delivered, and the bouquets were steeply marked up recently, making this a better priced and longer lasting gift.I am reviewing these the day they arrived, if they have issues I will update this to reflect that. However, I grew one of these at my last house and was very happy with it, and was pleasantly surprised to see that I could buy that exact variety online. The smell was fantastic when blooming, the shrub itself was attractive, and I loved how petite it stayed, so I could have it right next to the sidewalk and house.

Hardy, grows well - even outside of recommended zones.
Typically, lilacs (Syringa) don't do well in California (they need a colder winter to flower) but this guy has been doing well in my Bay Area garden (10a) and growing like mad and flowering in spring. It's too bad that the flowers don't last too long, but - true to its name, it does put out a second flush of flowers in early summer. Beautiful!

Was very small on arrival.
I planted it when it arrived. Now it is dead. Not worth the money.Wish I had waited. I saw a much nicer one at Home depot for half the price.Follow up: Bought May 2020 now May 2023 3yrs later barely grown.Contacted proven winners this is what they had to say.Its tiny size starting out could easily be the culprit. Shrubs are much slower growers than annuals or perennials. When they are in a nursery setting it’s easier for them to grow to size. When we plant a tiny plant directly into the ground it can take a really long time for it to put out new growth above ground. It will usually build an outsize root system for its size because the roots aren’t meeting any boundaries. When you buy a larger plant, you’re also buying the years that it spent growing before it got to you. Generally quart sized shrubs are pretty slow, but it’s possible you got one that was only recently sized up. So it was even younger than normal. Not great to hear in retrospect, but with all of our conversation there isn’t another conclusion to draw.Best, name removedProven Winners ColorChoice Flowering ShrubsWill never purchase from them again.

Beautiful healthy plant
This is my first time ordering a plant through amazon. I bought it with a gift certificate I received for Mother's day, and was I surprised when I received such a nice healthy beautiful plant. I can't wait to plant it and see it grow. I would order from this company again in a minute. It was packaged well, looked like it had just been taken out of a nursery.

Good packaging, healthy plant.
It was a little sad and had a dead patch when it came in, but after a week or so in good soil it has perked right up and has loads of new growth.***Update 2023*** my plant is north massive, I’ve loved this one for ages and sent so many pics to my grams that I ended up sending her a starter so we had matching porches. I took cuttings from my bush to hospice year later and we spent our last few weeks together surrounded by our lilacs. Since then it has bloomed an incredible third time this year!

Might be me, but died not long after planting it
First off, I'm not someone with a green thumb, so I'm far from ready to place clear blame on the nursery. My plants have been doing great this year, though (so perhaps I shouldn't sell myself short?), but this lilac plant didn't survive very long. The packaging was great! When it arrived there was nothing to complain about. I think this was handled very well. The plant looked fine. But despite watering and caring for the plant there was a clear degradation in its life in a day-by-day basis. Perhaps it's because I planted the lilac later in the season than I would have preferred (I bought it on Amazon Prime Day). It's pretty hot in my region and we're on the edge of the area that works for these plants. Maybe if I'd planted it earlier and let the plant settle-in before the hot Nashville summer it would have been fine?Again, it's possible this is my fault. Nevertheless, I have a dead lilac bush when all of my other plants seem to be doing fine.
