Makes a lot of noise every once in a when when the read head cycles. Not a deal breaker, buy I wouldn't want to run this drive in my desktop

These refurb drives are hit or miss. I've ordered 5 and recieved 4 so far, and of the 4 I recieved, 2 were DOA. Not recognized by my NAS and when plugged in to my computer directly they make loud screeching scratching sounds. The two that were picked up by the NAS both integrated right into my RAID array perfectly and are very quiet for being 26tb enterprise drives. I'm happy with the ones that have worked but I returned the two DOA ones. It will take some effort to actually get 5 of these with having the distinct possibility of some arriving unusable. IDK what testing they do to recert these but I definitely dont trust it 100%. Make sure you check them carefully.

I wanted to give a refurbished drive a fair shot. I had never purchased one before. To be honest, I didn't work with it long at all because it vibrated so loudly and violently. Even though it seemed to be functional, there's no way I would trust this drive with files of any importance. If a hard drive is rattling like that, it's because it's faulty or someone dropped it. I didn't want to have to return it - but there was no way I was going to keep it.

The drive arrived quickly. It was the correct storage size as ordered. The drive was well-packaged and arrived undamaged. Everything is working as expected. I recommend purchasing this item.
