Impressed! I can't wait to get this fitted onto my katana.
Lovely and elegant Tsuba! I'm delighted with its quality and strength. It's the right weight and dimensions. It's more beautiful than in the product photo. It does however show lines around the center of the outside rim where the metal was cast. I don't particularly like that, but at this price I am still amazed at the quality of this piece. There aren't any asymmetric "spokes" in the wheel design, which shows that attention to detail was exercised. It's perfectly balanced. It has a thick attractive finish that I'm sure will stand up to the rigors of practice without any problems. I'm confident in the quality and I'm excited to have it fitted onto my katana. The case it comes in is also more beautiful and the wood is decoratively routed around the edges to give a furniture-like appearance. The case is even painted with a thin coat of lacquer so it has a hint of shine and polish. It looks nice enough to use for display in your home. One final word regarding the purchase experience is that I wish the item was eligible for amazon prime because with prime you get the free two day shipping. I must say however that despite having to pay for shipping, this item arrived very quickly and the seller did not waste

Very Nice Quality
All edges were smooth and regular. Very nice finish. Looks great on the sword.

The tsuba is awesome, I love the design and it is well made. The iron metal tsuba looks great on my ninja sword, which replaced a tsuba that came with my sword that was combersome and made handling my sword difficult but with this new tsuba my sword handles perfectly and looks great.

Nice detail, OK product
The tsuba is OK for the price range, and does come with a wood display case. The piece is solid, but is a little lighter in weight than I was expecting. It also contains flashing inside the "feather" crevices from the molding process that should have been removed prior to final polish/painting. Minor details that would have raised the value and quality of the tsuba, imho.

Good Heavy Cast Replacement
I needed merely a reasonable looking replacement tsuba for my "work" wakizashi which got damaged and this product adequately fit the bill. Made of heavy cast steel, painted black, it fits well and looks decent at a distance. Further, it has the convenient additional openings for the throwing knives (if you happen to have that need). My chief reason for choosing this product is the very reasonable pricing. This tsuba did come packed in a nice wood presentation box (much as it is pictured). As I mentioned already, it runs a few ounces on the heavy side for a tsuba, and if one closely inspects it, one will see the casting flash and relatively crude workmanship. It is what it is. I only care that it functions adequately.

Money's worth
I have spent $150 in the past on one tsuba. I saw this one for $20 and thought maybe it was too good to be true. Though the quality on the higher end one was superb, this one does the job, just right. And I could buy one for every day of the week, for that kind of money. I was worried about the quality when I ordered it, but it definitely holds up, and my sword looks ah-mazing now. It took me some four hours to grind it down enough to fit, and for those of you that have never done this, make sure you have spacers for your handle. I had to put in an extra one to get it tight again. I would have paid $40 for this and still have been happy with the results.

Comically Small
Maybe for a scale sword, but this Tsuba is too small and has no practical purpose for decoration or gift. Would be better served as a keychain.Even for a tanto, this would be too thin to be useful.Spray paint over pot metal. Less than 5m at is thickest, and the cutouts are unfinished and oversized compared to picture.Save your money-

Nice, heavy
I am not using the tsuba for its intended purpose so this review isn't likely to be useful to anyone else. I am a museum docent giving tours to people with Alzheimer's. When we look at things, we try to have similar items for them to touch. I was afraid this would be too light, but it was fine--not as had yet as the original ones, but good enough. Unfortunately, the museum won't allow us to bring in swords :)
