If you have a Macbook you know the struggle of being stuck with slower speeds, This fully utilizes the Thunderbolt speeds and when using a CF express 4.0 card and reader my transfers are done in 1/3rd the time.

I have used SanDisk products for years and they are one of the first names I look at for flash drives. Every one I have has been reliable. I downloaded some video files to the this drive and they downloaded faster than any non SSD external drive I have. My limits are an older MacBook laptop with no USB C ports. i was unable to use the high speed USB C cable that came with the drive. When I upgrade to a newer laptop, I will not be pressured to order more SSD memory since I have this external SSD drive. I have ordered a carrying case to hold the drive.

USB4 will deliver the fastest read and write speeds available in the market right now. Sure, this won't be the most compact design but it is very sturdy, rugged silicone shell is a nice design choice to protect against drops. If you need storage for on the go that is fast and reliable, paying extra for this one is the way to go. Came in formatted in exFAT which means all systems (MacOS, iOS, Android, Linux, Windows) can read and write natively.The only con is the higher price for a premium product and the size. I have added a picture of a iPhone 13 side by side.I have experience putting some NVme SSDs in a generic shell and finding out it was overheating and disconnecting because of that, or getting damaged over time, don't fall for that if you need reliable backup solution.

SanDisk is one of my go-to brands when it comes to flash based memory. I don't think I've ever had one of their devices fail, though I've retired quite a few due to age. This portable drive is screaming fast, with speeds nearing nvme drives (though, to be fair, it's always going to be faster when plugging directly into a purpose built motherboard channel). The case feels rugged, though I have no desire to test that out. It's also rated IP65 for dust and water resistance, so it should handle splashes well even if immersion will cause an issue. As with every device, a 2TB drive doesn't provide quite 2TB of usable storage.So far, I'm incredibly happy. I'll update this review if I run into issues.

This drive does not support USB4 speeds with Mac notebooks that have USB4 support. The drive requires that the computer have a USB port that supports the USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 standard in order to deliver 40Gb/s data rates. Mac USB ports do not support that standard. Drive speed falls back to the USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gb/s) with a Mac.

This SSD is very quick. I've included a screenshot of the Blackmagic Disk Speed Test using both the 1GB setting on a MacBook Pro 14 with M2 Pro processor. Speed test clocked in at around 3000MB/s read and write using a 1GB file size. File copies have been working great so far. The SSD does get a little warm which is to be expected considering it's aluminum. Speaking of construction, this thing is solid - aluminum with a rubber border that not only helps it stay in place on a table but also gives it good grip when carrying. This thing is great - speed, quality and capacity in a small form factor - I couldn't ask for more.

I have just completed running this through several days of intensive read writes and I am very happy with both read and write speeds. I have had failures with generics so frankly I have vowed to stick to name brands when it comes to storage. I am getting just under 3,000 MB/s on mac mini pro and over 3,600 r/w on USB4 (USB4 Gen 3x2 port) on pc laptop for practical purposes double the 2kMB/s of the first "pro" iteration from last year.On the mac these numbers free you from Apple's ssd cost gouging memory scheme as you get virtually same speeds as internal. For video content editing this drive is extremely welcome.On build quality and design this is top notch as well.

Well built storage drive. Solidly made drive can handle being dropped with ease. Included cable is at least long enough to set it down safely versus some of the super short cables that come with lesser drives. It would be nice for a cable that was a little more flexible, but each user has their own needs and desires. Drive is ridiculously fast expecially for USB.
