This Afia Mediterranean Spice Blends Gift Set was well thought out and was put together quite nicely. I want to think of it as a gift that is suitable for the person who has everything, or, as an executive style gift that is suitable for giving to the boss. However, I will need to remove one star from my rating due to a couple of small experiences that I had with this spice set.The gift box from this spice set is sitting on my desk in front of me as I type this review. The dark green box with gold trim and gold lettering makes this gift box look like a nice bit of home decor. I will be sad to see it go! The dark green box is nice and sturdy. It came sealed with a gold seal. Very elegant!The elegantly designed gift box opens from the front and then folds up and over to reveal the three equally elegantly designed cardboard tubes of spice blends. Due to its a elegant design I found it an enjoyable and very nearly perfect experience to receive and to then unbox this gift set of spices.I think now is a good time to explain why a couple of minor experiences with this Afia Mediterranean Spice Blends Gift Set causes me to have to deduct one star from my rating of it. Firstly, as I held this elegantly designed and sturdy feeling gift box of spices in my hands and then turned it over to admire the back side of the gift box I saw what looked like two small grease or oil stains. Oh my! Greasy or oily looking stains are not something that I nor I think anyone else wants to see on a gift!Here I will pause and say that I eventually came to the conclusion that what I was seeing on the gift box was neither grease nor oil stains but in fact small scrapes in the outer coating of the box. I'm not sure if the outer coating is made of wax or of something else, but I certainly couldn't hand this spice set to an important person as a gift if it looks like it has grease or oil stains on it.My second less than perfect but minor experience with this gift set was that at first I didn't know how to open the individual cardboard spice containers. Because of that I managed to rip some of the outer label off the Shawarma container which exposed the brown cardboard that the container is made of. That was a bummer. The elegant design now looked ugly on that container. I wish that I knew that the individual spice containers are opened by cutting through a plastic seal that is glued on the side of the container. The cardboard lid must then be worked up and off of the cardboard tube.I did say that this spice blends gift set was well thought out and I stand by what I said. I especially like that a little keychain with six small recipe cards and descriptions of the spice blends was included with the gift set. I can hang the little keychain on a hook on my spice rack and enjoy the recipes and descriptions of these spices long after I've used up all of them up.As an American I very much liked reading that the spices in this set are grown in Texas, USA! If they ever open one up I am more than ready to go and take the 2025 Texas Spice Tour and see these spices growing in the field! I'd even be willing to pay good money to be able to go and do that.I thought that I owned a lot of spices but all of the spice blends in this gift set were 100% new to me. My favorite is the Shawarma. Its sweet and hot. I put it on roast chicken. I felt like the chicken Shawarma would really go well with some cold sour cream but I kept forgetting to buy some so I have not yet tried the two together.I really, really, want to rate this Afia Mediterranean Spice Blends Gift Set five stars, but, due to the two less than perfect issues that I had with it, I cannot. I can and I do however rate this gift set of spice blends a very well deserved four stars!

Delicious, fresh and authentic! Very pleased because these spice blends can be difficult to find in regular grocery stores. I'm very pleased.

Looking forward to using these spices in a variety of things. They are very fresh and smell wonderful, particularly the mint.
