The cutting angle is not great.
The cutting angle is not great. Especially under the chin. Tried with wilkinson .. 7oclock platinum even with feather blades . Not worth the price you pay. I am better off with my old merkur 34c

👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Good razor recommended for beginners. The razor has good weight which makes shaving very easy. Another advantage is that there is no need to open the razor to clean it as it is single edged and hair rarely gets tangled in it.

Single edge by Parker - balanced to medium aggressive
Shave with cold water splash23 yards lime zest shaving gel as pre-shaveUsed Parker soloedge (balanced to medium aggressive single edge close comb) with Supermax diamond edge blade - outstanding combination (for me).Note - 1st half- blade on its 3rd use today.Note: Parker solo edge is a well built razor. The loading mechanism and the magnet to hold the blade in place is pretty good. The twist turn mechanism to place the top cap and the reasonably good stamp action to stick the blade are well thought out. The blade does not recede during the shave. If Parker could have figured out a way to bend the blade for a better blade clamp, it would have been perfect. The current mechanism is similar to perhaps a Gem style razor. The blade alignment is perfect and any manual adjustment is not needed (touchwood). The tabs are well covered (zero blade overhang). The sides of a bent half de blade get clamped well.Having said that....What the razor lacks is intuitiveness. Don't get me wrong, it is extremely easy to find the angle. But if you like to ride the cap, the razor will feel a bit harsh and may also offer an ingrown here and there. The best way to shave (in my opinion) is to ride the bar. The razor offers a balanced to medium aggression but say, you rode the cap, the harshness will immediately put you off (and treat it as a medium aggressive and perhaps even higher). The blade geometry could have some more ingenuity in it to make this a smooth ride. I believe a single edge greatly motivates someone to enter de from cartridges (classic example - leaf, thorn). However, this razor may not.Other technical nuances:Weight is around 93-94 gmsBlades - any de blade split in halfGood matt finish does not let the razor slip from handsIt is not a bad razor.Bombay shaving company Lavender shaving foam (lavender chill) applied using right hand (natural - muscle tissue) - face latherFirst pass - with the grainSecond pass - across on the cheeks and jaw and with on the neckAlum (not used)Used the left over lather in the brush as a face wash.Post shave included application of modified Botnik essentials after shave lotion (witch hazel, menthol) followed by application of Lacto Calamine light moisturizing gel (light indeed)An excellent shave!Join the reddit group - Wetshavers_India
